Lake Erie Metropark Golf Course
About
Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown sits along the shoreline of its namesake lake. The location is a popular bird-watching spot with more than 300 species recorded. Golfers might catch a glimpse of a bald eagle and broad-wing hawk sightings are almost definite since the area is one of the best hawk-watching sites in North America. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and is routed through natural wetlands and forests. Towering trees line the fairways and water comes into play on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The golf course is a manageable 6,472 yards from the back tees. Lake Erie Metropark's challenges are mild enough for high handicappers but there are still some interesting holes that will keep the avid golfer entertained.

Nice Course
Still a great course for a Metro Park, the hazards are strategically placed. The pace of play can be slow due to group play at times and over booking. Yet, this course is always challenging for all golfers.
Solid metropark course but address is wrong
Solid metropark course. Played Wednesday afternoon. Good beer prices. Watch out though as the address on the reservation is incorrect. Should be looking for something at Lee St, not the main metropark entrance.
METRO PARK GREENS
The course has some very nice holes and the greens as with most metroparks were excellent. The senior tees were a little too short for me because they were normally with the ladies tees so I played the longer holes from the seniors and others from the whites. Very reasonably priced and quite easy to get a tee time. I would definitely recommend this course
Course Management
As my son and I and another GolfNow player began our round the starter was very orderly, which I really enjoy. The course was in very good condition, except for the sand traps which were in need of sand. They were also very hard and crusty probably due to the torrential rain a week ago. Also needed raking. All went well, but the pace of play was very slow with an over 5 hour round. I would still recommend this course because it is a shot makers type design with plenty of angles to place your tee shots. Course management is big here, don’t use driver on some of the shorter holes or you can wind up in the woods as a drive can reach these. Overall, a very nice course!
Painful round
VERY slow play. Had to wait at least 5 min on EVERY hole. Many twosomes, no rangers. I really like the course, but pace and lack of on-course rangers made the round less than desirable.
Very poor pace of play
Pretty terrible experience. Met the ranger on the first tee who bizarrely gloated about how many people he had busted for “bringing in beer”. Clearly the only thing he was doing. Front nine took 3 hours and 10 minutes. 5 groups on a hole. I called the clubhouse after 9 to see if the ranger could get things moving and the clubhouse told me to “deal with it because it was a full tee sheet”. If your tee sheet is resulting in a 6 hour time par, there’s something wrong with your tee sheet, not your customers. The Metropark courses are usually run well, so clearly an anomaly at this one. Would not recommend.
Perfect Round
Course was in amazing shape....greens rolled true....love seeing the eagles and a baby coyote
It’s well maintained.
Lots of scenic views, one of the nicer courses to play for reasonable prices. Lots of wildlife, and even seen a pack of baby coyotes on the back 9.
Great value
Second time playing this course and I will keep going back for there about a hour early the worker behind the counter had no issue with that. Gave me a free bucket of balls to go hit at the driving range love the course as well
