Cherry Creek Golf Club
About
Cherry Creek Golf Club winds through stands of mature oak, ash, and cherry trees. The rolling landscape is the perfect setting for a round, which has helped build the club's reputation as one of metro Detroit's premier public golf courses. Although it is a public course, the club offers the quality and amenities of a private club. The course is challenging but playable with four sets of tees that can accommodate all skill levels. The versatile layout is a popular option for tournaments and outings. In addition to the golf course, Cherry Creek's driving range and training area was ranked as the best practice facility in southeast Michigan. The facilities include a 50-station driving range with seven target greens of varying yardages, two putting greens, and three practice greens with bunkers.

great condition, short
If you want to make this course more challenging, be prepared to play the back tees. I played the white tees on the front with my father and had to hit flip wedges into all the greens. I played the back tees on the back nine and it was more challenging.
Tough and enjoyable
This course will show and challenge the weaknesses in your game. Pace was slow which is typical on the 4th, but opened up and moved along after the 5th or 6th hole
great conditions!
Course was beautifully manicured. ..pace if play was not bad for a Saturday morning...great experience.
Wide open twilight
Course was wide open played in under 3 and half hours. Course was in great shape, great rate and shot a 77. Would recommend and will pay again!
great shape and practice facilities
Greens in great shape and challenging for all player levels.
Will never return!!!
Well, I will never return to Cherry Creek for multiple reasons. I am one not to complain but on this round I am. The course is top notch but the staff and rangers will blow it for u every time let me explain. Myself and a friend had a tee off time at 948am we showed up early to box and teed right off. On the first nine we were waiting 10-15 on every shot just because it was so backed up. We said something to a ranger and he could careless. It took almost 6 hrs for 18, slow slow slow. We talk to the golf director Will he pretty much told us to go fly a kite. I'm done with Cherry Creek I will take my biz else where.
One of the Premier courses in the area
Due to all the recent rain, the course was very soft and it was cart path only, which makes the course much more difficult to play (June 29, 2013).
Conditions are always very good here, though, and even with all the water, the greens were still quite fast.
Cherry creek requires quite a few tee shots to carry over hazards. Most of these shots are typically long irons or fairway woods in the 200-220 yard range. Local knowledge is very helpful. Back nine has 3 par 3's and 3 par 5's
As the regular price is about $65, I'd consider the $29 I paid as a great value. It's still a good value at the normal Golf Now prices of $39-$45.
Overall, it's a very well conditioned, upscale public course with a variety of different hole types.
nice track - a few issues
Really liked this course. Nice shape and loved the layout. Most of the staff were excellent. Decided to comment to the pro shop after our round and a few beverages in the clubhouse regarding the driving range being closed and the putting greens unavailable. He said Tuesdays were range maintenance days - now we ALL know. Suggested to them to place this info on their website. It would have definately altered our tee time.
The course is fair and has great risk/reward shots.
I always enjoy Cherry Creek, it has a great woodsy setting and a nice mixture of holes. The 3 par 3, 3 par 4 and 3 par 5's on the back gives you a great opportunity to make up some strokes or let some slip away. A great finishing hole to close out a match.
Great course
Challenging layout that requires a nice variety of tee shots. Tree lined holes and water hazards demands skill.
Beautiful course and good food
A little slow on the day we played, but the course is beautiful and challenging.
Great range, nice course
Couple 26 handicap hacks, so course was a challenge, greens were in nice shape, ranger kept an eye on us to make sure we were not slowing play too much.
Good Course/Rate Through GolfNow.com
Nice course still in early season condition, greens had been aerated still some excess sand on them, spring storm made coursre extremely wet. Booked through Golf now as regular rates are too expensive.
Slooooooow pace of play
The course was extremely over booked. I've played this course quite a few times and this was the first time encountering this problem. I am in no way a professional golfer but on each tee box there was at least a 2-3 group back up. Each group teeing off played 2 tee boxes above their skill level and would tee off 2-3 balls per player. My gripe is that the rangers would sit there and watch this going on, and do nothing about it. It slowed the pace of play down all day long
Great course design
Obviously we played early in the season but the course was well maintained. Putting is difficult like usual at Cherry Creek. Pace was a little slower than normal but it was the first real nice Saturday this year.
This course is challenging yet playable.
The course was in great shape for this early in the year. I was impressed with the condition of the greens.
Fun To Play
Greens still showed signs of aeration so a little difficult. We played a few days after all the April rains, but the course was in good shape and not wet. Course has a nice "Up North" feel.
Greens better on front
Greens on front look great. Back much slower and bumpier. Sunshine and rolling will help. Look forward to playing when all 18 are in good shape
Great course and in great shape for this late in season.
What a challenging and yet fun to play course. Staff is supper friendly and helpful too. A must play!
Great Layout
Very nice course, white tee might be a little easy for the better player.
