Cherry Creek Golf Club
About
Cherry Creek Golf Club winds through stands of mature oak, ash, and cherry trees. The rolling landscape is the perfect setting for a round, which has helped build the club's reputation as one of metro Detroit's premier public golf courses. Although it is a public course, the club offers the quality and amenities of a private club. The course is challenging but playable with four sets of tees that can accommodate all skill levels. The versatile layout is a popular option for tournaments and outings. In addition to the golf course, Cherry Creek's driving range and training area was ranked as the best practice facility in southeast Michigan. The facilities include a 50-station driving range with seven target greens of varying yardages, two putting greens, and three practice greens with bunkers.

Nice but needs maintenance
Great price for the first rounds of the year but 6 of the greens were either temporary or damaged from the winter weather. Course was playable but slow and needs maintenance.
Usally a very nice course and hope with warmer weather to play again.
Probably too early to expect great conditions
The course was challenging but I thought it was overall not in very good condition, especially for what it usually costs to play. There were 3 temp greens so there was a pretty big discount which made it worth the money.
Great round at Cherry Creek
This was the first time I played this course and I loved it. It was in excellent condition, the facilities were awesome and it was a great day of golf!
excellent course for the money
This course is always in great shape. Very good value. Course is challenging but playable. You must be able to pick your shot. Placement is important. Staff is also very friendly. Starters and rangers are helpful and keeps play moving.
Great layout
Clubhouse and reception was good. Played the front 9 and thought it was one of the nicest courses I've played this year for my money. THEN made the turn. Yikes. They were aerating and top dressing every other hole. It was a nightmare. First, we were not advised before teeing off that this would be happening. Second, every other green was covered in sand. Third, after our round we went in to the pro shop to discuss our disappointment of not being notified and the gentleman at the counter had no interest in listening and was very disrespectful. All in all, went from great to poor in 4 hrs.
Worth the $$
In great fall condition; appreciated that they rotated aerating every other green. Women friendly, short yardage course, w/a couple of challenge shots here and there.
Good time
it was good time to play at Cherry creek. All players really enjoyed. Great deal..
Great condition
This was the first time I golfed at Cherry Creek and it was an excellent experience. The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly. The fairways and greens could not have been in better shape. Every part Cherry Creek was outstanding.
Nice, upscale course
I played Cherry Creek for the first time with a buddy that had played there long ago. We were paired up with another twosome. The first tee was stacked up with several groups behind us so we had people pushing us the entire time (that would be my only complaint). The twosome we played with was well versed on the course layout and were both quite good golfers. They were very gracious and helpful with tips on shot strategy.
The course was beautiful and very well maintained. The greens had dew on them and were a little on the slow side so the scoring was good and I had my best round ever on this day.
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and plan to play there in the future. We payed under $30 per person and felt it was a good deal for the condition of the course.
Difficult tee shots
This is a well maintained public course that requires excellent placement of tee shots. Numerous crossing hazards to carry and distance control is at a premium. Probably too tough for some players which contributes to slow play as everyone looks for lost balls. Rangers should be placed at the toughest holes to either forecaddie or move players along. Over 4 1/2 hours to play.
Course is always great to play. But can be slow at times.
I really like Cherry Creek and have played it many times over the years. The only drawback is not a fault of the course, and that is slow play. The back tee boxes have some forced carries and unfortunately too many players overestimate their ability. If players were more realistic, things would speed along. We watched a threesome of young men in front of us each hit three balls into the junk before moving to the drop area. The course does have drop areas set-up on these holes, but many don't bother to use them.
Great course, fast greens.
Great course, fast greens. Staff very friendly. Highly recommend.
Nice maintenance, weekend play pace, and course layout.
My wife loved it! For me, playing from the blue tee can add challenge. If you are to enjoy, try the blue.
Greens are pretty tough to read. 4 putts! ouch..
Course in Great Shape
First Class experence from the cart person on. Got off right on secuded and things moved very well for a Sunday. Love the layout and how nice the course was maintained, greens had a lot of break in them but were fair. I look forward to playing their sister course.
There were a lot of blind shots that I would have love to look at before hand but it just gives me a reason to come back.
Prefect Day for Golf!
This course is more challenging but if you hit it straight you will do good. I did well but need to go back and see if just luck.

Much of the difficulty is at the tee off, they had a march in front and this is something that can make you nervous. I just focus on hitting the ball straight and did good.
Great Course
Everything was great - even through some rain the course played awesome! There were a TON of mosquitoes - might have been from the rain, but there is a lot of woods throughout the course.
wonderful golf experience
There is absolutely nothing to compalin about at this public course. All staff and maintenance personell were cordial and professional. Although the course was soft from previous days rain, the course conditions were excellent. Top notch from tee to green. Layout was challenging but not extremely difficult. Very scenic. Felt like a walk in the park. Visitors to the Detroit suburbs should include this on their list of places to play.
Greens were nice condition and fast.
Nice course! Green were in good condition, rolled fast. A few banged up tee boxs but other than
That very nice place. Lots of wildlife.
Pace of play ridiculous during the week
had a tee time of 540 wednesday evening. Marshalls not on course enforcing pace of play and on 3 holes we were backed up 4 groups deep. Took over 3 hours to play nine holes. Would never play at course during week
