Cattails, Nov 8th 64 degrees in the Detroit area!
We booked a 2pm tee time having forgotten DST had ended the day before so we knew getting 18 holes in was nearly impossible.
The fairways were very soggy due to all the rain we have been having for weeks but it was playable.
The pace of play was extremely slow on the front nine but opened up a little on the back 9.
We squeezed in 15 holes given the slow pace of play on the front coupled with the late tee time. Sunset was 5:18pm.
Overall great course
Was a great course greens were not maintained very well and golf cart died twice on us but overall was a great course

Shot players course, little pricey though
Love the layout of this course, lot of holes where u need to choose going for carry or laying up short. Little high priced, $60 for 18 was excessive. Decently maintained but fair number of greens needed some patch/repair. Will definitely go back, but probably won’t be willing to pay full price

Average at best
I did not like the layout ...too many hidden ponds and blind shots

Good Value Golf Course
Most of the Par 5 holes are challenging and well maintained. Par 3 holes are not well maintained. Course can be maintained better. Clubhouse is pretty mediocre. The Golf course is good value compared to other well maintained courses which are normally about 20 to 30% more expensive. The golf course can be much better.

Tough course
The course is really tough but in great shape. If you’re willing to check your ego at the door it’s a fun course. Players that cry when a course is tough should stay far away.

Poor Value, Worse Layout
Overall, not even close to worth the $60 per person we paid. To be fair, we played the day after a heavy rain; but the course conditions were average at best and that was the only “positive”. As a mid handicap player; even I was frustrated with the layout which consisted of forced layup after forced layup, ninety degree angle doglegs, and just unnecessary hole designs. I am all for unique course design, but you should never be punished for hitting a good shot; here, there is plenty of that going on. All in all, I recommend you save your money and play any of the other nearby courses that are all less expensive and far better courses: Coyote, Tanglewood, and Links of Novi each stand far above Cattails.

Great course.. do not use Golf Now.. ready why
Cattails very nice.. but on another day I booked a tee time at another course.. Contacted Golfnow in advance .. they would not give my money back.

5 hour round. Greens in pretty tough shape although we have had a lot of rain. Clubhouse is starting to look a little run down. I've always likef playing here but it's been a while.

Pace of play was horrible. No one seemed to know whose tee time was what. 2:30 tee time and tee’d off at 2:45 as a single. If you’re supposed to be paired with people then pair them but waiting on holes for greens to clear when you can’t reach them is horrible. On the 5th tee, the green and fairway were clear and the group decided to stop and chat with the cart girl. When the green is open, you should emphasize on getting to the green not dinking around for a mixed drink.

Poorly Maintained; Friendly Staff
This is the first time I have played this course in a number of years and was disappointed. The fairways were in bad shape and the overall course just seemed to be going down quickly. The only positive was the staff who were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this course especially for the price!

Course is fun, greens need a lot of work
I have never seen so many unfixed ball marks on the green. The course itself is a little gimmicky but with a gps/app it’s not that bad to play when knowing where you have to hit. The greens are hard but fun to putt on. Nice grass range and clubhouse has limited food.
