Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Country Club
About
Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Golf Club is one of South Jersey's most popular public courses. It's a local favorite not only because of the affordable rates but also for the challenging design. The diverse terrain provides the classic layout with a mix of flat and hilly holes. On some holes you can expect elevation changes from tee to green. It's a golf course that will keep you on your toes. It will test your accuracy with its narrow, tree-lined fairways and the elevation changes throughout the course make proper club selection essential. Water hazards also appear on nine occasions. The course has appeal for players of all skill levels. It's player-friendly enough for beginners while advanced players will enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities. There is also a driving range available at Valleybrook Golf Club.

6 hour rounds
This course consistently over books teetimes making for six hour rounds for any golfer looking to play. Every time I have come out they blame it on a computer system or some other flaw and have no rangers to enforce pace of play. The layout of the course is nice however it's not worth the 6 to 7 hour round. I will absolutely not be returning it will not recommend this course anyone.
Greens were fast
Course was in great condition and greens were fast
Value for the Price
I've played Valleybrook several times in the past and been very dissatisfied. I went back for the first time in a few years because I got a $15 Hot Deal through GolfNow and I was pleasantly surprised. The course layout is nothing spectacular, but it's generally solid. Not overly challenging, but not incredibly easy either. For November golf in Jersey the course was very green - no burn outs on any of the greens that I noticed, but they were extremely firm & fast. Most greens could not hold an approach shot, so best to Club down a bit and run your shots up instead of trying to stick it. I will definitely be back again.
Typical Public Course
There's nothing flashy about Valleybrook but it's a good, affordable option for weekend golf. Paid $40 for 18 with a cart on Saturday morning. Play was very slow (5 hours) but they had an outing that morning so I guess it's to be expected. Conditions were ok but there were some bare spots around the greens that made short game play tough.
Nice challenge
Overall it was nice layout and a good challenge I would definitely like another round
very poor condition
poorly organized facility. there was no starter, and no carts available. we had to wait 20 minutes for a cart. course was in horrible condition, if not for the crab grass we would have been playing on dirt and mud. the greens were slow but at least they were bumpy. could not pay me to play here again. expected much more from a Jaworski course.
Course in very poor shape
I received a gift card to play Valleybrook so I called and booked a time to play this AM. Well not a good decision for a few reasons. I poured rain for 2 hours so the course was very wet. I was not warned of the condition of the course when I booked the time. The course was aerated and sand covered the greens. What a mess. I play a lot of great golf courses and I realized that not every public course is equal but this course is a terrible design! Ron Jaworski has some nice courses that I have played but I will never return to Valleybrook even if I get to play for free. The beer and lunch afterward that we paid for was good and the staff very nice.
Tougher than I remember
Course is challenging with tight drives, uneven lies and tricky greens. Par 3s average over 200 yds, two requiring 3w from tee.
Great Course
Of all Ron's courses, I've played this the most. It's a great challenge for the average golfer, with a couple of forgiving holes.
always a fun course to play.
good condition, great day..this course is not extremely challenging due to wider fairways...greens are in excellent condition and true to the eye...staff are very friendly and the bar has good food and spirits..we got a "hot deal" and paid less than the std rate..we think the going rate for this course is high...they do offer discounts to seniors...good driving range, and putting area..chipping area and sand is small...always heavy play at this course..it is hard to squeeze in 9 holes...ruff is high..but always a fun course to play...
Extremely Poorly Managed
We arrive for our 10:00am tee time and there are at least ten groups lined up on the first tee box waiting to tee off. No explanations. No apologies. "We have your money and now we don't really care if you enjoy your golfing experience with us."
Well, we figure, no problem - once everyone tees off provided the pace of play is decent, you're waiting on the first but not the rest. WRONG! We waited on EVERY hole until we finally quit on 11 after four-plus hours. EVERY hole. Not a ranger in sight.
Also, the next nickel that Ron Jaworski puts into one of "his" courses will be his first. They do the bare minimum in terms of maintenance.
Since this time, we've never gone back to a Jaworski-managed course. (The date of this round was actually July 4, 2015, but the website won't let me post that date.)
Guarantted 5.5+ hr round on the weekends
I've played this course countless times over the years. However, over the last two years I have only played it twice, with the most recent being yesterday. If you can only play on the weekends then you need to tee off on this course before 9am. Anything after that and you're locking yourself in for a 5.5+ hr round as the pace of play is super slow. It's a decent course with some challenging holes and the price is just right which is why the course is always crowded.
The conditions of the course and the staff are always on point, but as an avid golfer I just can't bring myself to play a round that takes that long. The worst part is that there's rarely any golf etiquette by the players - sunflower seeds on the greens, no one ever offers to let you play through.
There's much better courses in the area.
Good Day on the Course
Fun course with a few tight fairways and some up and down holes. The rough was brown in spots due to lack of rain. Surprisingly not crowded for a Sunday midday. Bridges, which there are many, in need of repairs, Will be back
Nice course
Good round for the price.
Great Course
A ton of fun. We teed off at 7am and the course was wife open. It's a challenging course with a lot of great holes. 2nd time there this year and will be back again.
Very Crowded
So everyone had the same idea on a Friday afternoon. First time playing here in years and was pleasantly surprised by the condition. Hopefully it will hold up over the summer. The is a rather short course with no true 5 par even from the tips for an average length hitter, but can be fun to play.
Good for the money by comparison
Descent course, the condition of the course is good, not great but good. The pace is a little slow but it was a very busy Friday morning. It's a great walking course, a few hills but the holes are close to the following tee boxes. The course is mostly straight holes, very few winding fairways which makes it a bit easier.
Not bad for the money
Overal I would probably play here again because the layout is fun, nothing too tricky. Of course it's that time of the season and the greens were air raided so that really made putting difficult. That is the reasoning behind my 3 star overall rating. In a few weeks once the greens come together and start holding and rolling true, my rating would be more like a 4
SLOW PACE OF PLAY----POOR INITIAL COMP. OFFERING
I booked a Friday morning 8:40 am tee time with cart via GolfNow for two players. We tee'ed off at 8:45 am. We could see three groups in front of us at the 1st hole. This was going to be a long round! The pace of play was very slow as the course was likely filled up beginning at 6:30 am. As such, we had to politely wait on many shots until the group ahead us was either off the green or a safe distance from us. We were infuriated by the group behind us who hit up on us several times in an attempt to make us play faster. Idiots!
At the 6th hole, a ranger approached us. The ranger stated a very large tournament was going to start in about 2 hours and the course management wanted all golfers off the course within the next hour so the maintenance staff could prepare many of the holes for the tourney. The ranger further stated the course management was going to give each player a full complimentary pass to play 18 holes any future time PLUS give each player a free beer for quitting early. We thought that was fair for cutting our golf day short.
After quitting following 9 holes, we went to the Pro Shop to collect our full complimentary pass and beers. The guy in the Pro Shop thanked us for quitting early and handed us two pre-printed cards for a free round of golf. We looked at the cards and quickly noticed the full complimentary round was good for Monday-Wednesday only and EXCLUDED a golf cart. I stated to the Pro Shop guy (Joe) we were told by the ranger the complimentary pass was good anytime in the future; not just M-Wed.. We were also informed by the Pro Shop guy that we would have to pay an additional $50 ($25/ea.) to rent a golf cart when using the passes. After I loudly objected to his poor passes offer and additional cart fee, the Pro Shop guy said we had two choices. ...either take the passes "as-is" or give them back to him and leave with nothing. Wise guy! I said this was totally unacceptable and immediately demanded to speak with the Pro Shop guy's manager.
I discussed the matter with Phil, the Valleybrook Director of Operations. The Director apologized for requesting we quit after 9 holes due to the upcoming tourney. I firmly pointed out that we had paid for a full round of 18 holes INCLUDING a golf cart and that we should expect to receive no less for a complimentary pass to play another 18 holes with a cart in the future anytime during the week. The Director graciously agreed and provided me his business card so that I could make contact with him in the future to redeem our complimentary 18 hours with cart for anytime during the week. Although we were finally compensated properly for quitting early, we were disappointed that we could not play the remaining 9 holes as planned as both of us were having a great scoring round.
