Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Country Club
About
Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Golf Club is one of South Jersey's most popular public courses. It's a local favorite not only because of the affordable rates but also for the challenging design. The diverse terrain provides the classic layout with a mix of flat and hilly holes. On some holes you can expect elevation changes from tee to green. It's a golf course that will keep you on your toes. It will test your accuracy with its narrow, tree-lined fairways and the elevation changes throughout the course make proper club selection essential. Water hazards also appear on nine occasions. The course has appeal for players of all skill levels. It's player-friendly enough for beginners while advanced players will enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities. There is also a driving range available at Valleybrook Golf Club.

Great course.
The course is in very good shape. It has some challenging holes but still very good for beginners such as myself. The staff is very friendly. All round a good course. I'll be back.
Dropping an eagle helps !
Course was in good shape. Greens look good. Staff was very friendly and helpful. An eagle on the Par 5 17th made the day great!
Better the reputation
I like to start my reviews by mentioning I am a newer golfer, a little over a year now. I had read and heard many negative comments about the course in general, would like to say I was pleasantly surprised. One has to remember it is a public course, so yes it is a little beat up, but overall I would say in pretty good condition. The greens are amazing, soft and well maintained. Fairways are in pretty good condition, but like most public courses, the golfers need to fix their divots. The drink carts could not be timed better, seemed whenever I needed a drink, there they were, but could do a better job with the water station placement.
Now the few negatives, the layout of the holes seems to be too much, off one green right to the tee box, by that I mean, too narrow and straight, play does get boring. I want to say 4-8 all feel like playing the same hole. I felt like the sprinklers were following my group the first 3 holes, turned on each time we teed off. Like I said before, golfers need to fix their divots.
Overall not a bad course, I will play there again. Fortunately I found a great deal on GOLF.now, so did not mind what I paid.
Slow Greens
Last time I played this course- "Jaws " name was not attached to it. Still looks the same. Played at 2 o'clock and there was no water in any of the coolers. Greens were punched a week ago and ran very slow. A little more sand in the bunkers is needed. Played in 3 1/2 hours. Did not try the restaurant. Staff was professional
Would only play again with another great deal from Golfnow
What an embarrassment!
I play 30-40 rounds a year, and I am an 8 index. I would not recommend this course to anyone who can break 100. Terrible layout, terrible conditions, clueless personnel. Tee boxes were the worst I've seen in a long time, greens rolled no faster than a 5, and were bumpier then my wife's C cups. Jaws should be embarrassed to put his name on this course. Why not take the $$$ he spent on Downingtown and invest in Valleybrook??? .. Probably bc he knows its a dump. Only course worse than this in the Tri-State area is Springfield CC.
Horrible experience in many ways
Played 12 holes and walked off after 3+ hours and will never come back. When we booked tee time (on phone with course) no mention made of greens aeration (4 days ago) or the shotgun tournament right in front of us. Even the carts here are old and tired, good luck getting yardages, course is in rough shape needs lots of TLC. Someone needs to tell Jaworski to get this course together and be honest with your customers before they waste time and money.
Good value for the money
Two foursomes played Friday morning; did not wait on any hole, nor held up foursome following.
Course in good condition, greens are in good shape.
Lunch was good, and it was nice of Ron to come over and say hello to our group.
Definitely, as a senior, a good value and an enjoyable course.
a place to go if you have 6 hours to kill
First the conditions were not that great although I definitely see improvements on the rise. They are also making it more girl friendly - much needed.
As for the pace of play it was like watching grass grow (not far from the truth). There was no time between groups and it was always backed up.
If you are looking for a nice walk in the park at a slow pace then this is the course for you.
Heads Up!! Literally
Course: Looks like a Muni because it sits in the boundaries of neighborhood with houses and the holes a bit crowded. Some bunkers need to have drainage and/or fabric liner put in them as the sand is either wet and most have dime to quarter sized rocks percolating up to the top of the sand.
We felt the need to move the ball away from the rocks to avoid dinging our wedges.
Greens appear to be recovering from being plugged several weeks ago (?) and are long, slow and like putting on a berber carpet. No one in our group could get the ball to the hole..If they did the ball would waggle on the putt line. Even short putts became a challenge because no putts ran true.
Front nine is short and straight. Back nine has elevation changes, dog legs and water...Lots of fun. Would have really loved to play the back nine twice.
Safety: Several tee boxes are next to greens and are either too close or the players on this course are really bad.. because it is not unusual to have balls come towards the tee box. This is not all that unusual for courses I've played in NJ where they have limited space to build the course...I think Pensauken is same (played last year).
I had a very scary moment on the 18th fairway, where I was 140 from the green and had a ball whizz by my head...I looked around and saw many orange range balls....there is only a hedge of trees that seperate the 18th fairway and the driving range and the guy had to be hitting big, long bananas to get them over the trees...
Scared for my health, I picked up my ball and ran for my cart and got off the course, deeming it too dangerous to finish my round.. Passing the driving range, I mentioned to the ranger that I was nearly hit and there were many range balls over on the 18th fairway and was told another patron was pointed wrong hitting over those trees.
I cannot recommend this course for me or my customer's to come play, until there is a higher level of safety on the course. I take customers to play golf and would be mortified if my customer were to get hit and hurt (maybe badly) by a driver hit by some guy slicing the ball on the driving range. Not besides the fact that I was almost hit in the head...
Anyone that's been hit by a golf ball knows it hurts and can do some real damage...especially a driven ball on the fly.
Some courses I play that have a similar set up with driving range and fairways, limit the range to irons...(no drivers) to prevent this hazard..
Super Slow
We had a tee time at 9:45 am on a Sunday. A league went off right before us and they were mostly late causing us to tee off at 10:30 am... 10:30! Having a league on a Sunday was weird in itself but having a league go off before noon was even more crazy. The "starter" just sits in the shade and has no clue who is going off at what time or what the heck is going on. We waited easily 10 minutes on some holes and you have to keep you eyes out for balls coming your way. All the holes are right on top of each other and pretty much backup to one another. I will never play this course again.
Saturday's are not good here
The course was in great shape but extremely backed up. We went out a half hour after our scheduled tee time and it took 3.5 hours to play 12 holes. We quit after that.
Fore!
Holes 6-9 go back and forth right next to each other and it was like being in a shooting range. Needed hardhats and bulletproof vests. And on some hole on the back nine I was almost hit by a ball from a golfer from another hole. Some flat holes combine with some elevation changes. Overall, just average.
I'll be back (as Arnold would say)
First time. I found this course to be better than some of the negative reviews. Enjoyed my 18 holes of golf. Staff was friendly. I work at a golf course in Burl Co I like to treat the customer with a smile and try to make their play enjoyable; I found this staff to be that way. I will be playing this course again in the next couple of weeks.
Nothing special
Played here after playing Running Deer, was not impressed by condition of course, pace of play was very slow.
You need 6 hours to play this course!
Was excited to play Jaws course, even after reading the reviews that pace was slow. That is an overstatement. We were 15 minutes late even teeing off (no golf carts available). Pace is non-existent. After 2 hours 45 min, we finished the front nine and gave it up. When we asked the starter about a Marshall, he said what Marshall??
Course was in nice shape, and like many municipal courses, playable by anyone - and anyone was out there - lots of folks who appeared to play golf a couple times a year. Certainly a hang-out for the locals, to the point where we felt quite out of place.
If you have time to kill and love lot's of recovery time between holes, this is the course for you!
Great Features!!!
The pace of the course was excellent and in good condition.
2.5 hrs for 5 holes
Took 2.5 hours to get through 5 holes. Pro shop does not communicate with Starter. 40 min behind for start time-I only found this it after I paid.
I ended up leaving after 5. I spend more time waiting then playing golf.
Course was not great either.
Pace of play is so terrible
Played a twosome with my Dad and teed off at 240. There was at least a 10-15 minute backup on each and every hole. Our round that should of taken around 3 hours took 5 and you couldn't even get into a rhythm there was such a long wait between holes.
Very slow play on this day
There were no golf carts availible for our tee off

Updated: After a letter to GM Kevin Morita, everything was made right. He apologized for the mix up and took care of us at another Jaworski course. Excellent customer service to make up for some miscues.
