Not worth my time , money or agrivation
I don’t know why I go to this course. I give it a try a few times each summer thinking things might improve and it NEVER does !! The pro shop employees are less than friendly and that same attitude carries out to the starters. They seem almost annoyed by your presence and I’m a local resident!! I can’t imagine how they must treat folks visiting on vacation! The course looks very well kept. Very green but it’s an illusion ! The fairways and greens are ALWAYS kept intirely too long which makes the greens unbearably slow . I guess they’re afraid to cut them at a reasonable length fearing they could burn out The fairways are always wet no matter how much rain the area gets. For any player that is hoping to enjoy your round be prepared to be disappointed. It’s too bad. The layout is not bad but the fairway and green conditions force you to Pick the ball in the fairway instead of hitting with a descending blow and putting on greens that slow is just a joke! My advice is once you’re on the green, take a 2 putt and move to the next hole. A better choice would be don’t play here at all and head up to the Egg Harbor area and play one of the many really good courses in that area. It’s not very far and we’ll worth the money and time. Just my 2 cents.
Nice Round.
The course was in very good shape and very well-maintained. I had the good fortune of playing with three strangers who were delightful. My tee time was 10:23 AM and was disappointed that the course restaurant was not serving yet. But I had a very lovely day and will be returning next year no doubt.
Excellent pace of play. Course in great shape but greens are a little slow. Finished round in 4:15. Definitely would recommend it.
cart path only because of heavy rain
The course and the staff are 100% 1st class in every possible way. Play here and enjoy. I would also like to mention the food is wonderful and they pour a very generous drink. Try it once and I promise you will don't be disappointed.
I play here often and dine here at least once a week.

Never play on a holiday weekend
Course management was poor. Three hours to play 9 holes is outrageous. Gave up and went home. Never play on a holiday weekend again. Not worth it.
Great condition, especially in winter
Wonderful course and great condition. Great food at restaurant.
Avalon in Nov
Great to play on a sunny day in late November, course was in nice shape, they were still removing the leaves, so fairways were spotless. I have played this course several time this year, always a pleasure, staff is very friendly and always helpful.
Good value for this time of year!
Anytime you can play in comfortable conditions this time of the year in then Northeast is a bonus. Course was in very good condition, with the only minor problem of wet conditions. Some muddy areas, but overall real good. And have to say that the greens were much faster than they were during the regular/summer season. Overall, a good day.
Great Late Season Golf
We played the course on 11/20 and it was cold and windy. That did not deter us from playing but did limit us to only playing 9. The course is in amazing shape for this late in the season, the normal wet spots were dry and the greens were perfect! Would love to hit this course one more time before the season is over.
