Pretty course. Good design. Great fairways and greens. Greens little slow. Very friendly and helpful employees. Look forward to play many times again.
Enjoyed the round.
I arrived as a single and was paired with a twosome. Really enjoyed the company. Nice day, nice pace of play. GolfNow price is very reasonable. I wish people would fix ball marks! The greens were covered with unrepaired marks.
Holiday weekend
Had rained the previous day so cart path only led to slow play which was expected. Not happy with greens. Players weren't fixing diviots. That's my only complaint. Really enjoy the course and the staff is very friendly and helpful
Great company
Played at 1pm on a Friday. Just over 4 hours. Course is great shape. Had to fix a couple divits left on greens. Otherwise a great day!!
Once a year
The course was in great shape. Except for the wet holes along the swampy section it was wonderful. Did not like all the flies. Where was the swan? Usually on the water. Missed seeing it.
Bar was full. We were not allowed to sit in dining area to have a drink. Shame on them!
Good Value
Course was in great shape. Was crowded so pace of play was slow, almost a five hour round But it was summer in a resort area so it was expected. Course is on short side from regular tees but still challenging
Good Experience
The first thing I'll mention is the pace of play. While others have mentioned how slow their rounds were, we played as a threesome in the middle of foursomes in about 4.5 hours...not bad for a Sunday morning in August at a Jersey Shore course. Based on others comments, I guess we were lucky in that respect. The course was in very good condition. The greens were very, very slow. We thought that was because quite a bit of rain fell the night before and maybe they didn't have a chance to cut them in the morning, but is sounds like the greens here are always slow. This was a little frustrating, but I guess if we couldn't adjust then it's our fault and not the course's. I will say that the greens were in great shape, just slow. I hadn't played this course in years, but I'll always remember it as the first course on which I ever broke 90 more years ago than I'd like to admit. Overall, an enjoyable day of golf. I'll be back.
Ranger Rick at it again!
I played with a father son pairing of beginners so at the very first hole Ranger Rick greeted us. Saying"this is the busiest course along the whole shoreline of the east course." The group in front of us isn't past the 150 bush and he's telling us to tee off. This is not my way of relaxing on the course and could you imagine my golfing partners. I told them to forget the ranger and just relax and play. So we are in the fairway going up to the second hole and who pops by but yes you guessed it Ranger Rick and the son laughs and says he actually was prepared for this because he has read up about the course and this very guy. I laugh and just ignore him. By the fourth hole he has been by three times and I've had enough and explain to him that at the last hole we had to watch 6 players tee off so maybe he should go to the groups ahead and be productive. Needless to say, Rick didn't stop by again. The course was very wet tee shots pugged in the fairway and greens but in good condition. Greens are slow but that is common here. Overall if Rick was busy somewhere else it would have been a very nice day. I shot a great round because I took my time and went through my pre shot routine with no pressure. Goes to show you that our teachers are right. Every shot take your time and be ready. "Take Dead Aim".
Won't be back.
From my initial moment where the bag drop signage was confusing and there was no assistance I thought what is going on here. Paid at the pro shop and the starter was friendly and helpful as a twosome expected some delay but we were paired up with two new young golfers who played at adequate pace. The foursome in front us of were extremely slow for a Monday. In addition no rangers to help move things along were on the course 9 holes took 3.25 hours. We had the group behind us hit 5 feet from us while we were on the green putting. They shrugged it off best hit ever at 310. On 10 they hit the green while we were putting. 5 feet from where we were standing. That is the kind of drunken golfer at this place! I had a golf cart attendant come out and got the your word against his story! Might have been ejected anywhere else. He apologized to the cart attendant not us. Won't be back
Nice course
Beautiful course with some interesting holes. Pace of play was a bit slow but we are on vacation so no big deal. Good deals if playing in the afternoon, and coupons offered in the local Wildwood coupon books. Fun day overall.
staff
staff was not friendly. way to firm. cart man asked me what was in cooler bag. i said water. i opened it and there was a can of coca cola. he said. thats not water. what a jerk. other then that. the course is nice
great course
This course is in excellent condition for this time of year. Fairways and greens perfect (greens a little on slow side). Pace of play was excellent. Cart girl came around 3 times on this very hot day. Fun course that is neither easy nor overly difficult. Can't wait to go back.
Course may not be for everybody
I play here every time I vacation at Sea Isle. Course is always in great shape. Yes,pace of play is sometimes slow. Greens are slow but in great shape. Greens are generally small and sometimes hard to reach in 2 shots which is why I say the course may not be for everybody. If you play once a year it will be a tough course. If you play regularly it is a great course, just pick a good time to play when all the once a year players won't slow you down.
Bad timing
My wife and I have been playing this course once, or twice per year for the last 12 years. In former years we have always tried to play on a weekday, early afternoon. This year we booked a tee time for 12:45 PM on a Sunday. This was an unfortunate choice on our part. There was a very large group (10 foursomes) ahead of us that started their first foursome at 9:30 AM. The last foursome was just teeing off at 12:25 PM. Long story short the round was abysmal, 4.5 hours to play 11 holes. Waited 12-3 mins per hole on all holes except for #1. Left after finally completing 11 holes, AND we skipped one hole. Will most likely return, but never again on a weekend.
