Kind of disapointing
I really like the course lay out, the staff are great and the bar/restaurant is awesome. My issues are with their booking and the greens on the back 9. They over booked the early morning tee times and because of that they ran out of carts and my 9:45 tee time got pushed to 10:20 and not only a delayed start but then everyone was all jammed up trying to play.
The front 9 was gorgeous, fairways, greens, everything. The back 9 on the other hand, not so much. Half the greens are totally burnt out. One hole was so bad that we couldnt even put because it was random patches of grass and dirt so the ball couldnt go straight.
It really is a shame, if they would fix up those greens it would be a great place.
Not in the best shape
Overall I like my experience when I play Cream Ridge except for the poor conditions the grounds are in. They have great amenities with the cart girl, food combo at the turn, and Roosters bar for after. The course is not in great shape right now. The greens on the back 9 were basically just dirt. Some fairways and tee boxes where in decent shape but overall the course was in poor shape.
Great course
This is one of the friendliest courses around. You feel welcome from the time you enter the parking lot until the time you leave. The staff in the pro shop, the starters, and the cart staff all are top notch. After playing only a couple of times I can honestly say this is one of my favorites!!! Great job Cream Ridge!
What a difference a week makes
Played this course last week . It was in pretty good shape. WHAT HAPPENED? At least 5 greens gone in a week!!! Yes GONE!!! No grass just hard dirt. The fact you can even charge a person to play here is comical.
Talked to greens keeper he told me some insect ate the greens . Just great. What's the rate for 14 holes? Many others were on their way out so by next week their might only be 8 greens left. To make it worse they are holding a children's day camp at the course . Couldn't even play the first hole 50 kids on the green while I'm in the fairway. So maybe that green was gone also. Played here once a week all year now it's over till next year I guess. It's sad cream ridge is now a greenless pre school.
HOT!!!
It was 96 in the shade today. The course is holding up well . Greens and fairways nice. Staff wonderful. As usual . But again it always comes down to the same thing pace of play
Why do people who can't drive the ball 160 yards insist on playing from the rear tees? Why do people who can't even walk from the cart To the tee insist on playing from the middle tees?. Wake Up losers. Play from the right tees. You are impressing No one . All you do is slow the course down . Move fwd and maybe you can enjoy the game 300 yard hole 150 yard drive. Now you have a nice 3 iron into the green so maybe you can hit a green in regulation instead of your normal putting for 7 with your first putt. That being said , it's still a nice course.
Cream Ridge
Nice layout. Senior tees are just the right distance for a fair chance at par. Course was in nice condition. Greens putted true. Good value.
Friendly staff, great course, beverage carts that make regular passes, who could ask for more! First time played, but will be back as often as I can.
The people at the front desk greeted me with smiles, the starter let me go right out, tee boxes were in excellent shape, fairways were great, greens were hard and fast. Great all around conditions.
Friendly golf course
The people who work here are very friendly , and customer service oriented. The course has several interesting holes. But also has holes that if it didn't rain for 10 yrs they would still be wet.the pace of play was great today. Foursome in 3.5 hours, but that's the exception not the norm. So on this day 4 stars.for the golf now hot deal it's a fun day. I have also played here with the coffin dodgers out and the rounds are pushing 5 hours.so it's hit or miss a lot like my buddy's golf game. Today was a hit.
Good course for the money
The course was mostly in good shape except for a couple of fairways. There’s a couple of generic straightaway holes but there’s also some unique ones too. We played on a hot deal for $32 so it was great value.
Good Course Rough Greens
Course was in decent shape except for the Greens. The cashier in the pro shop and the starter were great, very friendly and very professional.
Front 9 closed
Granted, heavy rains have been killing NJ. So I get to the course at 1130 for a 1145 round and they inform me the front 9 is closed it's underwater. You have to play the back 9 twice. I booked this tee time the day before. How about an email notification mentioning this. I would have cancelled. I drove an HR to play a semi underwater back 9 twice. No courtesy at all for paying customer's. Otherwise it's a nice course with many interesting holes. Just not this day in misery Sorry NJ.
Solid course
Course was in good shape, some areas wet from a lot of rain recently so maybe drainage could use some work, cart paths were in rough shape and trying to stay off rough and fairways was a bumpy ride, tee boxes were ok at best, fairways and greens were better then I expected
I feel compelled to respond to this comment filled with inaccuracies and exaggerations.
There are 3 greens on the back, 10, 12, 13 that are under stress right now. About 60% of these three greens are browned due to a condition that we are aggressively working on. The rest of the course is plush and has not been affected by the extreme weather conditions we have had.
Secondly, we had our Summer Golf camp of 20 teens that did not affect play in any way because we only took them on one hole.
Finally, we have adjusted the greens fees while our three greens recover.
