About
The standard 18-hole Green Tree Golf Course keeps in mind both skilled and inexperienced golfers. This public course has tight fairways lined with trees and greens of Rye Grass. The longest tees have a yardage of 5709, playing to a par of 70.
The golf course has three sets of teeboxes to provide an interesting game. There is also a driving range and practice green for beginners or those that would like some practice. Good price for a shore course.
Played with my dad and brother as a group of three, Pace varies since the group sizes differ, a twosome ahead of us for the front nine that only played nine then a three some ahead for the back nine that we caught up to because they were behind a foursome. It was fine though since it is about half the price of most of the rest of the courses in the area. Conditions were a little better than when my dad and I played in May, was much hotter on the course though and we only ran into the refreshments cart around the turn so bring your own water to stay hydrated. Layout is nice for novices like myself, a good variety of left and right dog legs with some hazards.
Just OK
Inexpensive, nice layout and challenging greens, but fairways were in rough shape, no drinking water, ball washers were not working and play was very slow. You get what you pay for.
Was ok for the price
The course needs a lot of work. Fairways were bare on most holes. Greens were in better shape. Tee boxes need work as well. There was no real reason to have cart path only when there was no grass on fairways. Could have sped up play a bit. The cost was great and the staff were fantastic. The clubhouse bar with Spike and Lisa working were exceptional. Would return just for price and to see bar staff.
Worth it on a HotDeal
$43 on a Sunday morning close to the NJ beaches……it’s worth it. County course with some interesting holes. Conditions were ok. 17 green should be shut down. The back 1/3 of it is dead.
I will go back next year early in the year for better playing conditions.
“Slow Tuesdays”
Love the course but don't go on Tuesday mornings. There is a Ladies League (before you jump all over me I don’t care who loves the game) and this group is all over the place and don’t have common sense when it comes to keeping the course moving along.
Hot Summer Day
Value for the money. Course is starting to feel the wear and tear of the weather and fellow hackers.
Got hit by a ball today…lots of beginners out there.
One more time
Lots of people working in the heat to try and keep the course wet during the heat wave - lots of watering going on. Smart move since in the past the course is burnt in lots of spots due to lack of water. Greens were well maintained - some dry spots on the fairway and tee boxes. Only one minor complaint - no drinking water on the course but had brought plenty with us. Congratulations to Brandon H for his Hole in One on the par 3 #10.
Slow play
Group of four in front of us (twosome) and for the first 9 holes it was brutal! Skipped the 10th to get ahead of them and much better. Needed help from a ranger because they had no clue about allowing people to play through.
Fun without fancy ! Slightly narrow and small greens ..
Fun course
Actually enjoyed my round here. Foursome in front of us were slow and people behind us were trying to rush us but overall a great time
Billy & Ant
So we played here Saturday, Billy suggested it to me, I’d never played here before. I must say it was a hard course, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely play here again.
Maintenance lacking
Front nine course conditions were terrible. Back nine was a little bit better. Overall not a pleasant golf outing
