Great Course Slow Play
Two foursomes of Asian's took early tee times, around 7:00 am, and clogged up the course giving us a 5 hour round. Not expecting that with a 7:12am. Too bad, the course was in good condition and the layout is done well. Scour was driven up by long wait times.
Good value
It was well kept. Great value. Was not too easy or too hard. Would recommend. Plan on going back
Overall solid course
Overall solid layout in line with most metro park courses. Bunkers were in rough shape/unplayable throughout the course as they were in the midst of being updated/renovated with new sand.
Also of note… the deer flies were really heavy. Made it tough to stay focused on a lot of shots. They need to spray or do something to combat.
Metro Park
A really nice course in great condition. The fairways were lush and the greens were fast. My only complaint was the fact that golfers were not fixing their ball marks on the greens. I fixed dozens of them that weren't mine. If you don't have a yearly parks pass, you have to pay $10 for a day pass to the Metro Park attendant.
3 1/2 hour round of golf on a weekend
Pace of play was great. Course in good condition. Green excellent and roll nice. We Hal’s a lot of fun. We will be back soon.
2 Ace
I’ve played Indian Springs a lot over the years and
Did play it this spring. Was in good shape in the spring. I was disappointed with the condition of the fairways. It was like what happened?
Weeds and clover everywhere.
Trimming was not well done.
It felt and looked oddly unkept. Like a course on the ropes financially which isn’t the case since they get tax dollars on top of their fees and park pass entrance. I regret buying the annual vehicle pass now.
I hope they get it corrected.
I also noticed the bunkers don’t drain after a rain.
The bunkers have always been full of gravel and rocks not much sand now I know why. I never hit out of them. Big rocks in there Will ruin your wedges.
Sadly, I won’t be back this year!!!
Great Public Course
Overall we had a great time. Before you read much further, if you haven’t been to a MetroPark Course, you have to pay $10 for a daily pass to enter the park. If that deters you, find another course to play.
Overall, I feel the value for this course is exceptional. All of the fairways, majority of the tee boxes and the greens were in outstanding condition. (I really can only think of only two maybe three tee boxes that were in need of some love). But overall great condition for a public course.
The layout was much better than I recalled from the previous time I had played which was years ago! The greens honestly offered just the right amount of challenge for our group, but still allowed us to make some great putts!
The pace was a little on the slow side, or at least i felt like it at times. I believe we still finished in about 4 hrs and 40 minutes, so not terrible, but there were some hold ups on the tees.
Also, I must say, the staff was great. My group had a little miscommunication about booking one of our players (so he didn’t have a tee time), but they were able to shift around a group we were paired with alongside a group ahead of this (and all parties agreed to this too). So it really worked out for the best.
I look forward to playing Indian Springs again!
Over booking is a problem
Over booking is the only issue this course has. Just happens to be a massive issue.
Strong Metro Course
Nice course for the money; strong challenge even for low handicapper..traps are under repair
Great weekend casual course
Indian Springs has a lot of leagues during the week, but if you are looking for a more affordable option for 18 this is a perfect course. The pace of play was pretty good, driving range was in decent condition with grass tees. The fairways were in nice shape and the greens were rolling pretty fast. Not a lot of forced carries here for the less experienced golfers. Plenty of tees to choose from. They have a pretty nice selection of food in the clubhouse, and a well stocked bar for refreshments. Clean bathrooms and some facilities scattered throughout the course. You will get to see some wildlife since this is in the middle of a Metro Park.
A real Day in the Park
For a county park golf course, a beauty! Overall corse was in good condition except for the bunkers, which we were advised were under repair. Greens were excellent.
