Hidden charges
Be aware that this is a Metropark and if you don't have an annual sticker, it's $10 to get in. If you are golfing on a hot deal, they will not refund the entrance fee ( you usually get $8 back at pro shop ). That hot deal all of a sudden isn't so hot.
Otherwise, it's a nice course with wide open fairways. Pace can be slower than you might like.
Dress Code
Overall this a nice course with 4 tee boxes to accommodate all levels of "good" golf. Paired up with 2 gentlemen who were just below fair and it made for a long round. 4 Hrs 30 Min. for a threesome. Also one had on a heavy metal type tee shirt and levi shorts. The only good thing was that the other played the senior tee box and that shorten his errors. Lots of seniors playing the whites and caused quite a delay on some boxes. Don't think I will be back
Good and long course but good for golfer that plays a lot
I always love to play this course not too hard and not easy either ladies friendly golf course they only thing for this course you have to pay the park fee which is 10.00 each time you enter the park unless you buy a whole year membership which is 22.00 dollar for senior
Slow
Took us 3 hours to play 9 holes greens were slow
Early in the year
Everything looked like it needed just a little bit more time to Green up the course was overbooked
Meh
The course was just ok. Early season conditions but the layout is somewhat monotonous. There are nice elevation changes but other than that it was ho hum.
The course was jammed up with no ranger to move people along. There was a 10 minute wait at every hole. We skipped two holes; otherwise it would have been a 6 hour round.
I had a Golf Now super deal so I don't feel like I over paid, but I doubt I will ever play here again, even with another deal.
We are aware from previous posts that "effective" marshaling is needed at the course and we are addressing those issues by offering training to the volunteer marshals. We apologize for the lack of marshal visibility as there was mandatory training started that particular morning which kept them off the course until later in the AM.
25 bucks + fee good value
have to pay 10 bucks to get in but they take 8 off for the parking pass when u bring it in
great golf pastoral setting peaceful
great golfing staff extremely friendly courteous smiles
Nice experience
Condition of greens was great. An attractive, fun layout. Good value, and would return to play again.
Love this place
Beautiful public course! Well manicured, clean facilities & friendly staff - a very enjoyable day !
Indian springs
Very nice metropark course, great condition except a green or two had some dead patches
Must get rangers to actually move people along
I play here 9-10 times a year, you gotta pick your times on this course or you'll be waiting forever for the groups in front of you as the Rangers search for balls in the woods.
The course is challenging, 3,4,6,7,13,15,17&18 are very challenging and demand a good tee shot from the Blue tees.
Well maintained, green speed is ok, not great, staff friendly....
NOTICE: Book tee times on Metroparks.com & avoid the booking fee from golfnow...you don't even need a credit card, just set up an account... $5 will be taken off your round as you'll pay $7 just to get into the park, just make sure you present your daily pass at the proshop!
Off to a bad start
Showed up no one going off the front but they insisted we go off the back. So we waited to tee off then had 3 groups in front of us and 2 behind. It was a mess. They should have been staggering groups instead of waiting for the guys that "should be making the turn soon" come. The course was being aerated so we had to deal with half the fairways that where a mess. In the middle of prime season? Really guys. Greens where in bad shape and the sand traps are more like gravel traps. I don't think my sand wedge will ever be the same. Overall not bad for the 18$ and change I spent on golf now but I would never pay full price.
Beautiful Course Very Well Kept
We had a great day for golf, the course was very well maintained and almost perfect. Played the round in 3&1/2 hours with the 2 of us. Couldn't have asked for a better day.
Longest Round I've Ever Played
Not the first time I've played here. I think the course is fairly nice but it took over 3 and a half hours to play 9 holes because there was a family golfing 3 groups ahead of us. First tee box was backed-up with 4 groups and we waited for at least 15 minutes on each tee box. The family finally let the 2 groups ahead of us play through on the 6th hole. When we were on the 7th tee box we could see the next group finishing up on the 9th hole. Would have been a much more enjoyable experience if we could've played at a normal pace.
Way Too Slow
I am really disappointed in my recent trip to a local establishment. Had a tee time scheduled for Sunday afternoon, and we were 3 groups deep before tee off; all twosomes. We couldn't even get through our 1st 9 holes before we just moved on to the back; walkers paired with riders, groups of 6, a novice foursome, and no rangers to move along pace of play. Once we reached the back 9, the pace picked up but then we had random singles and twosomes jump in front of us and we were pushed back again, never seen a ranger once. We finally gave up after 5 hours and only playing 14 holes.Too bad, great price and the course was in great shape but I'd rather pay extra for a better managed course.
Very poor
While playing this course my friend was assualted by another golfer that plays on a league at this course. He broke his driver on my buddy's leg. We we're on the 14th hole and didn't even get to play the rest because we had to call the police. The course staff acted like it was no big deal! I will never step foot on this course again!
Challenging greens - follow the hole suggestion cards
A wonderful course, open but tough fairways with challenging greens I found the front nine a little easier than the back. Only one Par 5 on the front, but two on the back, with one over 550 yards. The course is laid out with fair dog leg fairways which have reward for a properly place tees shot, but place it wrong and you will likely give up a shot to par. The greens were in great shape, roll true, with slopes, some tiers and pin placements requiring good green reading ability. I found number 12 on the back the toughest, a 165+ yard Par 3, elevated tee and green with danger both left and right. Laying up in front short of the green is an option to avoid an errant tee shot to either side. Staff and rangers were helpful. Most carts have a ball and club washer. I plan on playing this course again.
Great Condition!
Very nice course that was in excellent shape. Loved the greens and the course has a nice country scenic overall view. We were greeted by a very friendly staff person upon our arrival. We received our $5.00 refund for the park entrance pass without any difficulty.
Stayed for lunch. Not much variety but, the counter person/cook was very concerned that our food was ++.
good day
The course was in good shape, the pace of play was good, there was a beverage cart and a ranger
The course is aware of the "overbooked" feel you experienced. We have addressed this issue by changing our tee time intervals to every 8 minutes in the PM to not put as many groups out per hour as in the past. Please be aware, golf reservations are always maximized whenever it is 75 degrees and sunny such as the day you played and we did have a full house. We appreciate your patronage!
