Golfer Reviews
Late Sept Golf
This course is kept in great shape. You are not searching through piles of leaves to find your ball. Even the rough is clean. Can’t wait to get back for another round.
Great course for the money
For the money, great course. First time on the course, don't get your hopes up on an amazing round. Some holes can be challenging because of the difference in elevations, but that doesn't mean that it wasn't enjoyable. With the amount of dog-legs, the course makes you play on the strategic/conservative side. The course was in great condition even with the traffic that it sees. The only negative aspects of the course was the pace of play and the greens being on the soft side. Will be returning in the future.
Northwest Oakland County Best Golf
This is one of the two best courses in Northwest Oakland County. The other is a Oakland County course a few miles further north. This course will challenge you but not stress you out as if you were a pro playing on Sundays. The Metro Parks set aside adequate land for a great layout. You dont feel as if you were "shoehorned" into a small field. Yes I might lose a ball or two but then I'm not a pro.The refreshment cart is always out & about. You dont wait long unless you're playing at 7:00 AM.
Decent time
The front nine played extremely well. The pace of play was ahead of schedule. A gorgeous Sunday for golf. The back nine was where we had issues. The pace of play slowed down tremendous. We were a foursome and we always play teams of 2 on the back nine. Pace of play was extremely slow, and the rough on some of the holes were more dirt then grass. I was extremely pleased with the Greens and how they played. Hard to find some great greens in the area. I would recommend. I'm hoping the Back Nine pace of play was a fluke. I dislike how even though we paid online with Golf Now, the parking dad is still needed, even though the lady told us that the fee should have been included in the price to play. This should be addressed.
Beautiful course
Played on a Thurs noon hot deal. Can't beat that price. Course is in good condition, greens are slick as ever. Have played here numerous times over the years. The only thing I don't like is paying admission to metro parks.
slow play @ Indian Springs
Son and I have played here four times this season and very time the pace of play is very, very, slow.
Good course
Been here before. The metropark courses are good courses. They maintain everything well and the difficulty is right where it should be.
Indian Springs Metropark
The course was in great condition. The staff were very courteous and professional. The back 9 is very challenging and enjoyable. Played in about 4 hours and 15 minutes. Will definitely be back in the near future. The Hot Deal price was incredible.
Excellent Course But Needs Better Pace of Play
I have golfed this course on numerous occasions, and the layout, scenery, and value all earn excellent marks. The poor pace of play on weekends is my only crIticism, and it is becoming more and more of an aggravation. The problems are two-fold. One, they should stagger the tee times at ten minutes apart and not eight, but even those two minutes are not the real issue. It seems like every time I golf one terribly slow foursome is allowed to negatively impact all of the others golfing around them. Even yesterday, a foursome was moving ridiculously slow, and groups were at a crawl for seven eight groups behind them. I never saw a ranger, and the worst part is that the next two holes right in front of the slow group were wide open. A ranger could have urged them to improve their pace of play. I watched this group because I had so much time to do so while waiting, and they acted as if they were the only ones on the course. Everyone else would need to wait while they amused themselves, searched way too long for lost balls, retraced routes, and surveyed shots they would duff as if they were on the tour. Even the tour would have put them on the clock. I am not about a frenetic rush when I play, but I patently reject the premise that because they paid for their round they can move at whatever rate so moves them. They should politely be asked to speed it up ... or leave. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have experienced these issues, and I blame the course's poor management for the slow pace of play.
Great first round
We enjoyed our day. Course is in great shape even with the soggy weather lately. Good challenge as heavy winds made some holes play very long.
Indian
Been to this course plenty. I had a wonderful experience as usual. I would play this course more, although it can be difficult finding hot deals for Indian Springs. Not to mention an additional $8 to drive into the metro park. Besides that, it was in great shape and is a long course. I definitely will try and get out there again this season.
