Flanders Valley Golf Course has received praise as not only one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey, but also as one of the best in the U.S. Flanders offers two 18-hole championship courses, White-to-Blue and Red-to-Gold. The courses are spread across over 400 acres of Morris County's idyllic countryside. The White-to-Blue Course has a more traditional layout that sprawls across mostly flat terrain. The golf course may lack elevation changes but there are an abundance of mature trees to contend with on either side of the course, making it very tight in some spots. One of the most memorable holes is the par-4 14th, nicknamed "Top and Right." This slight dogleg left hole has a pond bordering the entire left side of the fairway.

Frost Delay

Always love Flanders, but I paid and THEN was told of a frost delay which was almost 2 hours. Would be nice if Golf Now would work with courses to send notifications through the app about delays like this.

Needs some work.

We enjoyed the layout of the Blue to White course, but the tee boxes are and have been in real bad shape. It’s time to fix ‘em.

Walked

Very difficult greens

The drought has taken its toll. The areas in front of the tees and in many other rough areas are chewed up hard pan. Many of the courses in this area have the same problem. The fairways though are watered well and in pretty good shape. The greens are in fantastic condition. But they have extreme breaks, almost unfair at times. I don’t know if this is overkill because of the drought, or if they want them that way to make the them us open-like. They do roll true and fast though. It was very walkable, despite the scary looking mountains all around the course, although a couple holes had a decent length walk between holes. It was flat though. The only serious problem was the bunkers. They were hard pan with 1/2 of sand on top. You have to chip out of the bunkers, and it’s hard to stop the ball. The course was a bit long for me, even the senior tees were 6100 yards. But overall it was a good course, with an interesting and scenic layout and large, extremely challenging sloped greens. With an invested of some money this could be a spectacular course. But it’s worth a look now for sure.

2.5 hour frost delay, complete waste of time. Tee time was 8am and teed off at 1030. Starters are a holes. Totally unnecessary wait time. I understand the need for a frost delay, but when patrons are in shorts and tee shirts outside at the clubhouse, why make us wait so long? Fairways/greens weren’t even wet or damp, they were bone dry by the time we played. Do not book if you’re looking for a quick round, no ranger whatsoever and no monitoring of pace of play. 5.5 hour round. Golfer beware….
