Flanders Valley Golf Club - White/Blue Course
About
Flanders Valley Golf Course has received praise as not only one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey, but also as one of the best in the U.S. Flanders offers two 18-hole championship courses, White-to-Blue and Red-to-Gold. The courses are spread across over 400 acres of Morris County's idyllic countryside. The White-to-Blue Course has a more traditional layout that sprawls across mostly flat terrain. The golf course may lack elevation changes but there are an abundance of mature trees to contend with on either side of the course, making it very tight in some spots. One of the most memorable holes is the par-4 14th, nicknamed "Top and Right." This slight dogleg left hole has a pond bordering the entire left side of the fairway.

Flanders Blue to White: A good walk appreciated
First time at Flanders and it did not disappoint. Track was challenging in some respects with a few forced dog legs and some very sloping greens, but overall, fair and enjoyable. Only downside were the bunkers were pretty thin on sand so we were all thinning shots put of it.
Conditions were great -- not pristine, with several GURs standing water areas and some scalloped fairways, but as public courses go, these were really good.
Pace of play was exactly 4 hours even though the group ahead of us perhaps could have been slightly more golf ready. We teed off at 5:50am on a Sunday so I imagine the pace slows down as more people saturate the course.
Nice course
Flanders is one of the nicer public courses in Northern NJ. There should be more drinking water breaks and port o jons on the course.
Bunkers stay neglected
They still have not addressed the bunker issue, so if you like having to drop it back into the grass due to lack of actual sand you're fine. Otherwise you'd ruin your clubs hitting off the hard pack and gravel. There are better values all over the county where they care to take care of their course.
Frost Delay
Always love Flanders, but I paid and THEN was told of a frost delay which was almost 2 hours. Would be nice if Golf Now would work with courses to send notifications through the app about delays like this.
Needs some work.
We enjoyed the layout of the Blue to White course, but the tee boxes are and have been in real bad shape. It’s time to fix ‘em.
