Hillsborough Country Club

About
Hillsborough Country Club is tucked away amongst the foothills of the Sourland Mountains. The golf course overlooks the beautiful Amwell Valley, sprawling across lush rolling hills gently sprinkled with mature trees. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels, it is even gentle enough for beginners. While it may not be what you're looking for if you want a long and challenging test, it's great for a casual round with a few tricky surprises. Accuracy will be generously rewarded but the golf course isn't overly punishing if you're slightly errant. Golfers will come across a fair amount of strategically placed sand traps as well as the occasional water hazard. In addition to the course, you can get even more short game practice in on Hillsborough Country Club's practice chipping and putting greens and there is also a driving range available.

Hillsborough
This course is a hidden gem, it’s not very long, but it’s a shot makers course, the greens are what makes course a little tough, not only go you need to place tee shot in correct position, you need to hit greens in proper position to keep putts to a minimum! A lot of slope to greens, makes it fun to try and position your ball properly!! Definitely going back to accept challenge of these greens!
The Middle of Nowhere
Deep into the Somerset County farm land. Wild turkeys, and cows mooing add to the experience.
Conditions were good throughout, especially the greens.
Excellent course
Despite heavy rains the day before we played the course was is fine shape,
Yes some bunkers had standing water and there were some soggy spots on the fairways.
It was cart path only so it took 5 hours for our 4 some to complete the round
solid
third time back. course was swampy from all the rain this week but otherwise in solid shape. greens were slow, but rolled well. bunkers need some serious TLC but was fortunate not to end up
in there for the whole round. would play again for $40
The Staff is this biggest asset of this course. I play here a couple of times a year because it is such a great value. This year there has been some course improvements and that makes it an even better value.
Do not overlook this gem of a course in Somerset County. Friendlier staff and you wont bust your wallet like the county courses.
Fun Course
We arrived slightly early, and we were sent right out. The course was in excellent condition. The tee boxes were clean. There were a bit of gnats but to be expected with all the rain this spring. The pace of play was no problem at all. We finished our round in 4 hours. The only thing I can say negotiate was it was 96 degrees out and there wasn’t any drink stations set up at all. I would play this course again .
Nice course, TERRIBLE STAFF. Stay away!!
Been playing here for years, never had a problem until this last time. A truly nasty old man treated our group in a totally unacceptable fashion. Shocked and disappointed. We and all our friends are OUT on this otherwise very nice course until this old creep is GONE!!
GREAT
Tough Little course , great value. Bar/Food Area needs MAJOR up dating.
Strategic coarse if you do not know the layout it's a challenge. Greens were fast and in good shape.
This course is excellent. Well maintained and great pace of play. Greens are tricky and fast. Try to stay below the hole. Well worth playing!!!
Sleep is overated
My round was going well until a grumpy guy stole my ball when I accidently hit near him, I loved that ball and it was all downhill no pun intended after that.
Wouldn’t Go Back for Awhile
I went on a Monday in May with a 11:50 tee. The course was okay to say the most. The fairways were in good shape. The greens were in real bad shape, very bumpy and hard to “stick”. I found many balls hitting the greens then not holding on when on other course would’ve stayed on. SHORT COURSE with many blind tee shots. Would be very hesitant to go back. In the end, you get what you pay for
Golfing day
We enjoyed our day of golf with my 2 sons & wife. Weather was perfect. We had a slow party in front of us. Drive was long, we drove from North NJ.
