About
Great Gorge Golf Club is situated on 500 acres of naturally preserved land, nestled in the Vernon Valley between the Wawayanda and Pochuck Mountain Peaks. Designed by George Fazio in 1970 on behalf of Hugh Hefner for his Great Gorge Playboy Club, the course boasts 3 championship nines: Rail, Lake and Quarry. With four tee box options, the course is manageable for newer golfers yet challenging for lower handicap players, making Great Gorge an ideal venue for all golfers.

Rangers pushing pace of play
Course was great, speed was not
6 plus hour round of golf… we waited at least 10 minutes before we could tee off each hole, much longer on par 3s. Back 9 was quicker, but after 3 1/2 hours for front 9, we couldn’t even finish the round. Really unfortunate for an otherwise nice course.
Great course
Challenging greens. Add 10 to 12 strikes on just for the very fast dome shaped greens. Beautiful scenery
Worth the trip!
3 separate full length 9 hole courses make up this hidden gem. Challenging enough from the tips for those that desire a challenge and very playable for the shorter hitters. The course is always in good shape and the staff is chill. Like the course and the vibe.
Solid Value and Great Layout
Great layout. Three 9s that have lots of undulations and challenging holes. Greens in solid shape for Oct. amenities are minimal, but not lacking. Staff really friendly and accommodating. Only complaint is course pace can get bad and didn't see a ranger more than one time. Too many groups not accustomed to pace etiquette.

now it is of no use and a mile away

Haven't played this course for 25 years. A buddy and I had a really good time.love the layout and the scenery.lots of challenges on the greens and the approach shots. A good test.
