About
Great Gorge Golf Club is situated on 500 acres of naturally preserved land, nestled in the Vernon Valley between the Wawayanda and Pochuck Mountain Peaks. Designed by George Fazio in 1970 on behalf of Hugh Hefner for his Great Gorge Playboy Club, the course boasts 3 championship nines: Rail, Lake and Quarry. With four tee box options, the course is manageable for newer golfers yet challenging for lower handicap players, making Great Gorge an ideal venue for all golfers.

Good day out
In short beautiful views course could use some TLC on the cart path, but the view made up for it. Well kept enough for the money. It is a shame the area has such run down appearance but once you are out the course that goes a away and you get some good view especially with the turning leaves.

No dirction
This place is huge. When you first enter the area, there was no sign leading you up to the pro shop, yet several ways to travel. The same thing happened on the course, no sign for the next tee.

Well worth the drive and cost.
Classic layout in great condition for the price point. We played Quarry-Rail. Sand traps were nicely framed, contoured, with actual sand. Nice definition between fairways and rough....wish it were closer, but worth the drive. If you haven't played in a while, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I wish the new owners well.

Ive played here 5 or 6 times and as usual...from the greeters, to the starter, to the dining staff,,,absolutely enjoyable. Thank you all for top notch hospitality.
