Harkers Hollow Golf Club
About
Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

Great value
We played for less than 40$ total for 2 with cart for 18 holes!! That alone is awesome!! But no ball washers and the club cart didn’t come by one time in 18 holes!! Easy cheap and not a bad course at all. I definitely recommend if you can get the deal I had.
Great course but slow pace
I've enjoyed played this course and can see the improvement over time, especially with the greens. Great layout. Tees need work and fairways can be rough. I think they need to work on keeping on slow golfers. Today's round took 5 hours. I was told a very slow foursome left after 9 holes and was hopeful things would improve, however the threesome in front of me was extremely slow and not once did anyone from the course come by to get them to pick up play. I've played other courses where they make people pick up their balls and move to the next tee if their pace is too slow. A faster pace would improve the experience a great deal. Otherwise I love the course and applaud their efforts to bring it back to what it once was.
Tee boxes are ok. Great course for $54. Great time. Very tough greens.
Still a lot of fun
Work in progress and challenging at the same time, but still a lot of fun! After all, isn’t that what it’s all about?
Charity Event Debacle
Attended a charity event at this course - a Captain's Choice scramble at 9 AM. Signed up on line as a single golfer. Arrived at 0845 to find I was the only one in foursome (2 carts). I loaded my bag on my cart and after instructions given to all golfers about rules for the tournament, I asked the starter what options since I was the only one in my foursome to start on the 12th hole. He found another single and paired us up and told us to join a threesome on the 6th tee and make a group of five. Starter did not coordinate or ask that group if that was acceptable.. Upon arrival on the 6th tee, the threesome had found their fourth and did not want to play 6. They suggested we join the group that just tee'd off on the 7th hole and join them. That group did not want to play as five. I left the course and proceeded to club house to explain frustration of poorly organized tournament - rather than leaving us to play as a twosome, it was left up to us (the customers) to find other groups to join as 5 or 6. Left the course and would not recommend this course to play due to poor customer service. No refund was given.
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us. We would like to first start by apologizing for your experience during your round. Please know that this is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. Continuous improvements
I shoot in the mid 80's and love to play different courses. Harkers is a great course with varying challenges. Have played here about 6 times over the past 3 years. The improvements , I have seen over this time are quite noticeable. Pace of play was fine and everyone was friendly. Definitely recommend it. Some holes are close together so listen and respond if some yells "fore". Have fun and be safe.
Perfect Afternoon
Great scenery, staff , and amenities. Course was packed due to beautiful Sunday afternoon some golfers holding up the pace but you can’t control that. Definitely will be back!
Decent course.
The course has come along way with the new owners. They are doing a great job reviving the course.
First time and last
Conditions are just awful here. From the tee box , fairway and the greens. First the tee box, the ground is so hard its difficult to put the tee into the ground. The fairways are really bad, due to the lack of grass. Greens are at best average. The front nine is worse then the back nine. The lack of cart path will put your back into spasm. I'm pretty certain that this course does not have a proper irrigation system....... I can't recommend this course to anyone out there
