Nestled in the hills of Scotts Mountain, Harkers Hollow Golf Club was carved from a sloping hillside, giving it a challenging terrain with plenty of elevation changes. Opened in 1929, the golf course has a classic layout designed by Robert White, the first president of the PGA of America. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,551 yards from the back tees, the course plays much longer and harder thanks to the undulating terrain. The layout does offer a few lengthy holes as well as some interesting par 3s. The greens are small and fast with breaks ranging from subtle to dramatic. There is hardly any water but the Lopatcong Creek does run the entire length of the golf course and requires the occasional carry. The par-3 fifth hole is the club's signature. It is particularly notable for its scenery, which is why it has served as the backdrop for many weddings.

Good track fun to play but...

Enjoyed our round all but one green were great soft and good roll. They need ranges to move the pace of play. There was a group of 4 hitting multiple tee shots on every tee. I am not Tiger but come on they held up 4 groups. It made the round slightly less enjoyable. Now the other positives. Friendly staff, well maintained and great value. I will play there again

Harkers

Harkers used to be the cream of the crop. Unfortunately from what i understand it was taken over by very poor ownership and neglected about 5-6 years ago. It then sat rotting for another few until it was re-bought. Considering the condition it was in this course has come a very long way since it was re-opened! It takes time and effort for a course to get back to where it was. It’s a great course and a great value. Needs improvements but each time you go you see the improvements. Recommend to anyone, beginner or veteran.

Great round

Course in great shape. Greens soft yet fast for putting. Rough was fair and manageable. Sand in bunkers was hard packed. Cart paths on back nine had serious potholes. But these are minor issues. Overall a very enjoyable day and will definitely play here again

Great job

Harkers Hollow just keeps getting better and better. What was basically a cow pasture 5 years ago, has been bright back to excellent conditions. Combined with the pool, and the multiple and excellent food & beverage options, this is a great place to play.

The new owners, in my opinion, have done and are doing a very good job with this course. It used to be a mess just a couple of years ago, it’s actually playable and enjoyable again.

Nice round

I enjoyed the round. Fairways need water, but greens were well kept and were challenging. I’ll play here again.

Not much improved from last year.

Not sure if it’s because it have not rained much, but the fairways are so dry and dusty. Greens are not as bad, except for some that have patches with no grass at all. Was hoping new ownership had improved it a lot, based on emails sent out.

Nicer then expected

Negative comments from folks that had played there prior. Enjoyed our round. Nice track, great pace of play, all greens were in great shape except one. Course could use a little TLC. Needs some watering in certain areas and this will get worse as temps increase.
