It's been...
...twenty plus years since I played here last. I enjoyed it.
Conditions were good, tees, fairways and greens. Off the fairway it was hard-pan and the ball ran forever.
Very tight, tree-lined fairways. Only criticism, who ever changes the holes does a terrible job, The 13th green I saw 5 previous holes as with many other greens.
Course in Great Condition
Course in very good condition. Rate of play excellent. We'll run operation.
Aeration
Course was in decent shape. Aerating greens were tough. Walkers tend to slow you down. Beautiful day for golfing.
fun medium length golf
Easy to get around. All aspects of this course were as expected. Low handicappers and long hitters may not find this course very appealing but the rest of us will enjoy reaching almost all of the par 4s with a decent drive. Will return often with golf now.
Short yet challenging course
Not a lengthy course but there were some excellent challenges for all golfers. They protected the course well after a heavy rain overnight. Facilities were clean. Just note that there is a park with trails that crosses through the course. However that was not a problem during my round.
Challenging but fair
I live relatively near this course and finally played it for the first time. I was not disappointed; quite the reverse. You must hit the fairways !
What an Improvement!!!!
We stopped playing Princeton about 20 years ago because it was so bad but got a Hot Deal I couldn't pass up. VERY glad I gave it another chance. Forgot how nice the layout is and how the narrow fairways test you off the tee.
I would say that they need to cut the rough back a little. It's long and with it wet challenged us more than it should have.
I WILL BE BACK!
Nice Course, shorter but tight
Staff was very friendly. Pace was great no waiting entire round. Shorter than most but tightness and small greens make up for it, need to hit em straight. Greens bumpy and on slow side but had just been airated. Would definetly play next time Im in the area.
Pace of Play is not good
I've played this course many times before and stopped playing there last year because holes 14-17 were in such horrible condition I'm surprised the course was still open. The fairway were literally dirt. However, I thought I'd give it a try this spring hoping the conditions had improved. The course was in decent, not great condition. However, the starter had let several walking doubles in a row out, and one particularly slow three-some without pairing anyone up. As a result, there wasn't a single hole that I didn't have to wait before teeing up. Most holes I had to wait 5 to 10 minutes. The slight rain and wind didn't make the waiting any more enjoyable. By the time I got to the 13th hole there I was part of the 3rd group waiting to tee off, so I decided I had enough and went home. So I will never know if holes 14-17 have improved since I don't intend to go back.
Great course for under $60
I played this course on Easter Sunday. The pace of play was excellent. No waiting at tee boxes and no groups hitting up behind us. The course is short, but challenging around the greens. Fairways, bunkers, and greens were well maintained. A few dirt patches around the greens made short game a little difficult. I would recommend this course and play it again if in the area.
Also, I would highly recommend the food in the clubhouse. We ate breakfast and lunch. Everything was delicious and staff was extremely friendly.
