Golfer Reviews
Solid public course
Had a great time playing! Pace of play was slightly slow.
Gem of Union County
Played it on a super warm day. Not a course to walk in general, but regretted it especially. My watch measured over 700 feet of elevation change throughout the round.
Greens rolled fast and true.
Only downside is my buddy’s cart GPS didn’t work on that day. Otherwise excellent experience.
Definitely will be back.
Go elsewhere.
Just recently played there after a little rainy morning. We thought it be a good time to go. No one will be on the course however, that was not the case. It took us four hours to get through 14 holes. There’s no Ranger to speed people off and make sure everyone’s doing the appropriate things. We saw the group in front of us have multiple balls, and the other group in front of them was walking and they were two holes behind everybody. So we just up and left. Also, there was so much sand on the greens. It was like I was putting in a bunker every single roll. My mom always, so Sandy it was so frustrating and not worth paying $75 to play this course at these conditions.
Recommend
Excellent course. Elevated tee boxes, Very nice fairways, very fast greens. Roughs were pretty deep in some areas. Only issue is that we waited every hole for the group of 4 women ahead. Winded up finishing 25-30 mins behind pace.
Home course
Just wish I was able to get a tee time more often on this course. Being a 7 day card holder I’m never able to get tee times. That’s my only complaint. Otherwise it’s a great course
Electric cart associate a "Real Jerk"
The course is great along with associates with the exception of Gerald at the bag drop!!!
I approached to hear him arguing with a guy and his young son? The man was asking why he was cursing at him in front of his son? When I asked which cart I should take he also gave me an attitude!? He then said "take one, do I have to pick it out for you?" In a very sarcastic manner?
I would recommend they get rid of him and let him wipe down seats in a less reputable place.
Best Course in this area
Galloping Hill is an excellent course, challenging with great facilities.
Among the best
The pace of play, excellent on the front, slowed some on the back. 4.20 for the 18 for our 4 some.
The course is at the top when it comes to public courses in NJ.
Excellent conditions, the course has a lot of character.
Try to play it at least a couple of times every year and it never disappoints.
GPS on the carts… excellent practice area.
Got a good rate with a golf now hot deal and a promotion.
