Warrenbrook Golf Course
About
Warrenbrook Golf Course is one of five courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission. Although it is a seemingly mild 6,372 yards from the back tees, don't let the yardage fool you. This course is a formidable test. The layout is very tight, routed through dense stands of mature trees that loom above the fairways and frame the greens. In addition to being heavily wooded, the rolling terrain provides many tricky ups and downs ranging from subtle to dramatic. You'll be hard-pressed to find a flat lie on this golf course and you should also be prepared for a few blind shots. To top it all off, there are also a few strategically placed bunkers. Your accuracy will be put to the test at Warrenbrook Golf Course, as will your course-management skills.

not crowded
I play in the afternoon, not many people playing at that time. Narrow fairways scare a lot of players away but makes you improve your accuracy.
Great course for the value
I played this course as a first time due to the price. Great for what it was! I would play it again!
Somewhat challenging, but worth playing
It can be little bit frustrating if you are playing for the first time since few fairways and greens are hidden. However, I've really enjoyed playing here. I wish they had a better green conditions, but I guess it will be better from May. To play good here, you must drive straight~
A mystery
I understand aeration but, why would you aerate in December, when the grass does not grow and have lousy greens until the middle of May. Do not play here until then, any putt over 12 inches was pure luck. it is still a fun layout and enjoyable to play when conditions are better. Slow play, no ranger, and bring food and drink as there is none there.
Nice but Narrow
I've played here many times (pretty much was my "home" course) and each time still poses a challenge. Fairways are definitley a premium because of the narrow fairways. Although if you hit shots to the right, you'll usually be on another fairway so you can find your shot but dont think you will get it over the trees. Also there are some blind shots so knowing the course and or having a GPS helps. Its walkable, so long as you enjoy the challenge of walking up and done some hills lol. Overall, its a solid course for the $$$.
Walking friendly but be prepared for the Hills
The greens were perfect. The fairways were in great condition. The rough had some areas were the lack of rain took its toll and made for some hard surface shots.
The main defense to par is the elevation change and sloping fairways. The dry conditions made for a lot of role and much of down the slope to the right or left of the fairway.
I did not use the club house. But as I walked though it looked a bit dated and could use some TLC. That is why I did to rate the food and gave the overall a average. It was typical of a many muni course clubhouse. The course itself is in better condition than the clubhouse.
Overpriced for average course, rude staff
I've played this course before and thought it was just average, but some friends were going, so I joined their foursome. Staff was particularly snarky and rude, especially the guy in the office, who was very impatient with all of us and contradicted himself when asked about the rates.
The starter was no better, giving us grief for not arriving 20 minutes early (we got there about 10-12 minutes before our tee time) and acting like he was doing us a favor getting us out.
Course is just OK and is overpriced, especially if you don't have a county course.
You can do much better elsewhere.
Slow play ruined a very nice day
Course is very nice, well kept. But pace of play was horrible. no rangers which seems to be the norm nowadays. Its a shame.
Nice muni course
Fun course. In pretty good shape, especially the greens. A bit pricey unless you get a golfnow deal.
enjoyable afternoon
nice old style course, some blind shots that make it more interesting
Fast and Firm
Off the fairways, balls run forever. Course was pretty empty for a Friday and then I was told its "weekend rates". $67 for an out of county senior to ride was a bit much. Solution: Won't play there on Fridays. Also bring drinking water.
Good course and we'll maintained
Overall good experience. Fairway a d greens in great shape. Only downside is its a dry couse and there is one vending machine to get water or Gatorade and no turn takes you in at 9. Stay hydrated!
Mel
Excellent course to practice hitting it straight, I play this course when I really want to test my irons accuracy.
Some greens are tricky, and some are slow. For a muni it's an excellent value. Do not play on weekends unless you plan to stay for 6hrs. Needs ranger to tell these Slowpokes to keep it in pace.
Have to hi em straight
I really like this course however don't go here if you are off your game. Even slightly awry shots will add two strokes to that hole. Slope of course is high and it deserves it.
tight course
tight course. Had to follow the slopes because the course was hard and fast and bounces were a little crazy. played on a day when the greens weren't cut and they very slow and never got the speed.
Great public course
If you're there for food and drinks your in the wrong place. The staff was friendly and laid back. There is no grill and occasionally they did have a water cooler in the course. There was only one portapotty that I saw on the whole course and it was pretty gross. But the course is worth it. The fairways are right with som decent blind doglegs and hills. There wasn't much water and minimal bunkers and considering the long hot summer the greens were in great shape. I'd play there again.
Narrow but good
Not much to say, the course is narrow, so shoot em straight. If you hook/slice, you'll be in trouble quickly.
But overall the course is nice, not overly challenging which can make it enjoyable to play if you can keep control. Only 2 water holes so not much to worry about there, overall it's nice and well maintained. I'll be back.
Well maintained course
Greens and fairways were in great shape. Pace of play a little slow. Foursome two groups ahead seemed to be the problem (a ranger would be nice to get things moving). Staff very friendly. Great value thru golfnow. Enjoyed the round. Would play again.
