Preakness Valley Golf Course - West

I like to walk. So for $60, I haven’t found a better value. The course is in premium condition with no major issues. Fairways are cut tight and the greens rn are rolling pretty darn quick. Surrounding land is also pretty stunning, including the 19th century graveyard next to 10.

Also a very attentive drink cart plus a solid bar/grill overlooking the two finishing holes. All told, it’s my favorite place to play in the area.

Course was great fun, but had way too many mosquitoes since it’s practically on marshlands.

I've played this course, both sides, numerous times over the years and have enjoyed it. I havent played though recently. Apparently they've changed the rule that only 2 carts can be out per foursome. I attempted to go out as a Single, along with another single and a twosome. Myself and the other single were told that we couldn't drive separately and we needed to ride together. My own opinion, this makes it very uncomfortable to ride with someone I don't know. This was never an issue before and I was ok losing my money and left the course very disappointed. I will never book a single tee time again at this course. Will I ever play the course(s) again? I'm sure I will, as I stated above, they have two very nice courses, just very upset with the new cart rule.

Too many foursomes in front of us were playing multiple balls, spending 10 minutes every hole looking for every ball and goofing around. It's hard enough to get 18 in when you tee off at 4:40 and the carts are expected to be returned before 8:30. We were hoping someone would have come to control the groups in front of us but it didn't happen. We ended up having to wrap it up on #14.

Conditions on The East course are as good as I’ve ever seen and I’ve been playing here over 40 years. Greens were immaculate, maybe a tad slow after a rainy week. Beautiful, level tee boxes. Nice fairways. Starter got us out on back nine at 4:45pm as there was a league on front 9…our twosome finished before 8pm…thanks.

Course was in great shape. Pace of play was good.

Unfortunately the rains came when we were on the 3rd hole. Course was very accomodating and gave me a rain check. Considering the convenient location, I'll be back.

This is the first time playing this course since it changed from Passaic County Blue/Red. I was pretty impressed with the course condition since the change over.

I’ve never played this East course. Played the West course a few times. I was pleased with the course layout and would definitely played this course again.
