Hurricane Problems
I just played this golf course today 9/7/21. The course took a hit from Hurricane Ida, they had to close an entire hole and turn a different par 4 into a 80 temporary par 3. I am not blaming the course for having to do these things with their hurricane damage but I would have liked to know before I booked the tee time! Other than that everything was great as it usually is at Preakness.
Still waiting to turn
I have played here numerous times. This has been the worst experience so far. One hole was “not playable” yet was dry. And the first four holes took over an hour and a half due to two slow groups ahead. They had two holes open in front of them at one point. Saw one ranger the entire time. Spoke to him, he did nothing. Had to skip two holes to have a chance at getting the cart in on time. Started late because of the groups and the starter could have cared less. A nice course can be ruined by pace of play and lack of care from the staff
Unfriendly staff
Pace of play was horrible, they overbooked the course. Staff wasn't friendly at all pro shop and the starter , didn't make you feel welcomed at all , will not play there again.
West side
Course was in good shape, but greens are on the slow side. Course has improved tremendously over the last few years.

I used to play here for high school matches nearly 20 years ago, and back then, the courses were a mess. Flash forward to present, and the courses are immaculate. Whoever was responsible for the renovations and improved conditioning deserves a round of applause. I really enjoyed my round, and the fees are very reasonable for the caliber of course. Definitely will be back.
Good course, well maintained
Good, reasonably challenging course. Very well maintained, tee boxes in great shape, especially compared to nearby courses.
Great day
My experience was great the staff were friendly and attentive and got me out quickly. The course is in excellent conditions, I’ve played several times at this course and it has always been in good shape, also the added yardage on some holes has added to the better experiences I believe.
