Gone down hill
This course used to be a premier course in the area but is now one of the worst. Tee boxes are mainly dirt. Greens have black spots all over. Good layout but most backyards are better kept.
Not bad….
Haven’t played the house in at least 5 years. According to my playing partners who I just met the course has gone through many changes.
Front nine was in very good shape. Tee boxes were fair. Greens were true. Bunkers were not consistent. Some very firm, enough to use a putter to get out. (Which didn’t work)
Back nine different story. 10 - 14 greens were beat up. Not sure if there was a disease or something. 15-18 were in good shape.
Front nine open. Back nine weaving in and out of woods. Front nine very walkable. Back nine you need a cart.
Price a bit high but it was a nice change of scenery.
Springfield 2.0 iykyk
This place is wayyy over priced $45-$50 should be max price. Every green is a different speed absolutely no consistency then the last 3 holes they make roll semi decent to try n get it in your head that its nice well the first 15 holes the greens were atrocious so it was a mute point by then. Bunkers are growing grass the fairways are junk. One guy was out there busting his but trying to get things done and make it look nice but seems he is not given the proper man power or tools to get things completely up to par. Definitely not worth a dollar over $55. Has potential just needs new ownership someone who cares and will invest in it!
Greens aren't great!
Staff was super friendly!! Course was okay. We saw the cart girl 3 times in the first 6 holes but not after that...there's no halfway house, you don't pass the pro shop and it was HOT!! Greens have a lot of disease and there were twin sand "holes" (almost gopher like holes) in the middle of one of the greens. Fairways are well maintained.
Making a Comeback
For years this course was always in great shape - issues with irrigation set it back for about 3-years. They hired a new superintendent this year who has worked wonders. They also replaced the retired Pro with someone who grew up on the course putting a new found energy into the pro shop. New restaurant/beverage manager has also done an excellent job. A definite must play in the South Jersey area.
Intimidating off the T box
Haven't played there for 15 years. My game has improved since then. Not intimidating as it was. Guess my game is not as intimidating. Nice course just a little wet. Albeit it did pour the day before.
Course is Greatly Improved from the Last Few Years
The course struggled in 2023 and 2024 and was in bad condition and it received a lot of negative reviews. It is much better now. The fairways are in great condition and most greens are in good condition. There are still a few spots they are working on. Some sand traps need some work. But my round was very pleasant and the course has a great layout. There was an issue with a lot of carts breaking down but they said new carts are due in soon.
Deerwood
The greenskeeper staff is working very hard to bring the course back to perfection. Fairways are nice and greens are very putt able. Course is fair but keep ball in the fairway. Course is also fun but has several challenging holes where an optimal tee shot is required.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Overall great experience. Reccomend course highly.
Good Value
Deerwood has a nice layout and challenging holes. A good value . The greens (minimal bare spots) and sand traps (need to be raked) could use some attention.
Great experience. Will be back.
Finally made it out ti Deerwood after being told by a friend for years to come here. A tough course if you miss off the tee. The course was in great shape with the only blemish being that 14 green had some sand patches on it and was slower than the rest of the course. Will definitely be back.
A tad to pricey for what you get
Course has a decent layout and is very score-able. Biggest negative are beat up tee boxes, and dead spots on some of the greens. Also three of the greens on the back were cut longer so they rolled way slower. Hate that kind of surprise mid round. I think I would have been happy paying less, but who wouldn’t be. Just didn’t feel this was an $80 course. Recommend investing in better grounds crew, a friendlier ranger, and a sign where to drop carts off.
Much left to desire
The course is decent at best. Priced WAY to high for what your going to get. Grass in the bunkers, teeboxes have holes and grass missing everywhere, and some greens were beat up. Fairways for the most part were very good.
Great course
Hidden gem golf course. The golf course is in great shape, surprised by the lay out. I really enjoyed the round. Food is excellent as well. A+ Golf
Hidden Gem
Always love this course! One of my favorite in south Jersey and the staff is on point.
What a sin. It used to be an outstanding course. (10 years ago)
