Although it's only an hour from New York City, the Garrison's secluded location nestled in the Hudson Highlands makes it feel much further. Perched 800 feet above the Hudson River, the 18-hole Garrison golf course offers panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the rolling hills are, they provide a challenging topography that will keep you from being distracted by the scenery. The rolling greens are flanked with bunkers and water. In addition to the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies, you can expect a few tough carries over deep ravines and stands of mature oaks along the fairways. The elevation changes are especially dramatic on the front nine while the back nine is a bit more open and forgiving, but you'll still need accuracy throughout the entire golf course.

Great challenging muni
This course definitely worth a try if you are looking for a course with challenging undulation and slopping greens.
good pace of play. and friendly staff.
Great scenic course in the majestic Hudson valley
I was early and starter let me right out alone.
Greens were very fast.
Foursome in front let me play through.
At 10th elderly couple let me play through.
A few slow pokes towards the end.
Water around 14 a little funky?
All in all a beautiful, well manicured course with some great views of the valley!
Charged for a cart
My GolfNow reservation was to include the cart. When I got to the course they charged me for the cart. Nice course, will definitely play it again.
A day with friends
Great course, I loved the layout snd cannot wsit yo play it again,
Neglected
tee boxes in terrible condition. Ladies tees were random areas of grass. Bunkers are not well defined. Old cart paths, really bumpy. A really tough course with no relief for inaccurate shots. Seemed like it's been neglected for years.
Not worth what the asking price.
Most if not all the tee boxes are ripped up and uneven. Also golfnow says the rate is $55 but when you get to the course they charge you $65, bad communication between the course and golfnow. Save your money for a better course.
Amazing Course with Amazing Views
Don’t know how many times I’ve golfed here but every time is memorable! Great course, amazing views and great staff! My favorite place to golf!
Garrison, the gem of the Hudson Valley
Booked through golf now. From the start the staff we courteous. The course is somewhat difficult. Beautiful views of the Hudson River and West Point on some holes. Course is hilly and expect to lose some golf balls.
I will be back. Peace
Tight and slick, but a nice challenge
Greens on the front were really slick, at least 12 stimp when we played. Hard to lag anything, they need water. 10/11 needs the rough cut back because I lost two balls that weren’t hit that bad, and found 3 that weren’t mine, so I wasn’t the only one having that problem. Other than that, great experience. Greens protect the shorter holes and require accurate approaches
Course Management should disclose all costs.
*Course conditions very good
*Course Management did not disclose the cost of Cart at $32/twosome. (Only Negative)
Always a Solid Choice
You can’t go wrong with Garrison. Is it the best course you’ll ever play? No. It’s definitely not the worst. The views of the Hudson River and West Point are great! The Front nine and the back nine are like completely different courses. The second hole is fun.
Cart required
Booked online, thought I had cart included. Did not, so we had to pay an extra $10. This is not a walkable course. pace of play was slow due to a slow group ahead of us.
Beautiful day
The Garrison is a beautiful course with sweeping views of the Hudson River and highlands. Course conditions were good as was the pace of play. One of the nicest public access courses in the area.
