Greens
The greens were inconsistent. Some cut tight and fast. Some like carpet with tuffs sporadically scattered.
On your game
This course is fun and challenging. It is not long but challenges you to set up shots and angles with your tee shot. Mature course with trees to navigate along with creeks running thru that require consideration.
Nice if no other tee times available when needed.
Overall was a good experience, there are many course selections at this venue but can only comment on the Crossroads course. As a guest, the local members were extremely friendly. I was traveling though and had to rent clubs. They are extremely proud of their old used equipment. Paid as much for the rentals as I did to play there. The staff didn’t know anything about golf or ask what kind of equipment I needed. The driver they rented me was a lady’s 40 gram 10.5 degree set to closed plus 2 degree high @ 6 year old Titelist… just what a 6 handicap male golfer needs (I think it was like my daughter’s jr golf driver she learned with). But all considered was a good day once I learn my limits with the equipment lol!
Course is in poor condition
Course isn’t in the condition it was last year .. :( actually have grass growing in the sand traps .. slow slow play .. allowing 5 players in groups .. no ranger to push the slow pace .. I would not recommend this course .
Unusually poor conditions
This course is normally in above average condition. However, this time we encountered a course where none of the bunkers were being maintained. They all had not been worked and had weeds growing in them. The fairways and greens were in average condition, with some rough spots. Lots of overgrown areas around trees and between holes that would typically be mowed in the past. I was told they have a new superintendent, so I hope they get the conditions back soon.
Okay shape, good service
Greens were a little slow. fairways need work and fertilizer
Everything is in a good shape
Played early in the morning, first tee time. Since I was playing by myself, finished the round in 2.5 hours. Greens were in very good shape. Played Signature a month ago and the fairways were terrible. Crossroad fairways are much better. The pro shop is always friendly.
Hire a functional ranger.
5 straight holes with 4-5 groups waiting. Not worth the price.
Good course, staff is poor
I asked for a course/yardage book and they charged $10 and the employee at the counter didn't tell me it is only for the signature course and not crossroads. Also the ranger drove up to us while we were teeing off on hole 6 and asked for our receipts. I have never had that happen before. it was very disruptive and rather insulting as we had carts and you have to get a key at the counter for the carts.
I will likely never golf Majestic oaks again because of the staff even for a good deal through golfnow
