Nestled in the Lower Hudson Valley, Putnam County Golf Course enjoys a scenic location amid rolling hills yet it’s not too far from the city. Formerly known as Putnam National, the club was originally opened as a private club in 1959, it opened to the public when it was bought by the county in 2004 but it continues to offer the quality and amenities of a private country club. The golf course has front and back nines that are completely different from one another so be prepared to use all the clubs in your bag. Water hazards only come into play on two holes but don’t let that fool you, this course is formidable even for avid golfers. Putnam County Golf Course's final four holes are an especially challenging stretch that will test you with everything from uphill lies to a slew of strategically placed bunkers.

Putnam Golf

Course in good shape, play here a lot because its close to home. Problem with this course is twofold...layout with parallel holes makes it a bit scary, lots of cross fairway shots, and 2. Range stinks...cant use drivers and its squeezed in between two holes...which makes those holes around it a tad dangerous and confusing with balls all over. They should fix that.
