Crab Meadow Golf Course

Course is a nice track but 5:15 round is painful

EXTREMELY SLOW pace .... Marshall's are non existent - and not capable or interested in keeping things moving... Threesome in front of us were so slow that a 2 hole gap was created in front of them. Two ladies one guy. The literally took 10-15 strokes per hole. Called club house from course and asked for Marshall... He showed up and gave us a song and dance about "doing the best he can" but the group was ... "older, and they take time to play" ... Not sure what that means but it backed up the entire course .... 6 hours to complete (painfully) 18 holes .... Dodged tee shots from group behind us all day who were not interested in waiting .... We were sitting ducks while we waited for group in front of us ....

CRAB MEADOW GOLF WAS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. EVERYONE IN MY FOURSOME (ALL INDIVIDUAL SINGLES) USED GOLF NOW. WE ALL ENJOYED PLAYING HERE. IT WAS MY FIRST TIME HERE. THE GUYS I PLAYED WITH WERE ALL VERY NICE. THE ONLY COMPLAINT WE HAD WAS THAT IT WAS EXTREMELY SLOW. WE HAD TO WAIT ON EVERY TEE. SOMETIMES IT WAS A DOUBLE BACKUP. IT TOOK US 5 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES TO PLAY. THAT IS JUST CRAZY. THE COURSE ITSELF WAS GREAT BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I WANT TO TAKE THE THE CHANCE OF PLAYING THAT SLOW AGAIN. WE PLAYED ON A THURSDAY AFTERNOON AT 1 PM.

A little more care to this course and it can be a great course. Cart paths were a bit beat up and the greens were very slow. Grounds people were still mowing at 9am... not particularly considerate.

The are scenic views on certain holes but the pictures on the website definitely make this place look better than it really does. The club house was definitely not that nice, the front door had a broken window. I was looking to have an outing here but was not impressed enough to hold one there.

Again. A lot of potential but I don't think I will be returning.

It was a very nice course with great views. Pace of play was good and the staff was excellent. Look forward to playing there again.

Nice course, beautiful views, group spacing reasonable and friendly staff. The range is limited but who cares.

Nice course. Greens are on the smallish side but in good condition. Nice course. Not too long, not too short. I liked the difference from one hole to the next. Not a basic cookie cutter layout. The pace was good. Played in 18 in a bout 4:15. Good time for a weekend round. First time playing this course. Will be back.

First time playing Crab Meadow love the course satff excellent. Fairways were in excellent condition. The greens were very true for this early in the season with the weather. There was a lot of bunker rebuilding going on. Sand was raked over nicely and was not hard. Looking forward to going back to play again soon. Excellent value for your dollar.

Played in Mid-December and the course was in great shape. Greens were smooth and quick. Course has a lot of character...some doglegs, uphill and downhill holes, small, undulating greens and even water on a few holes. Not a tremendously long course, but an emphasis is put on picking the right clubs and hitting to the right spots.

Course is ok just a little short, but good for walking to get some exercise.
Pace of play was slow at few holes !

My friends and I play golf all over Long Island, but none of us had played Crab Meadow before. What we found was a gem on the North Shore and instantly became a favorite of ours. It is a location that will be in our yearly rotation for many years to come. Can't wait to go back, so many good things to say about this course, the easiest thing to say is go play it for yourself , you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Conditions were incredible!! Fairways are wide and perfectly maintained . Staff was most helpful and gracious. Views of L. I. Sound brimming with vessels of all shapes and sizes was another benefit of this course. Hills were manageable, greens were fast. Ruff was minimal and green. Enjoyed the company of two talented men. You want fun?? Don' miss this course !! Driving directions were fine, a few miles off the SAG pkwy.

Have golfed here before. Always a nice staff. I usually dont have pace of play problem bc I go out as early as possible. Great views. Greens were pretty beat up. But that isnt always the courses fault. Usually due to golfers with no etiquitte and no respect for the course. Course is challenging and reccomend it to anyone.

The course looked like it was normally kept in good condition. However when I played the course was still muddy from the prior days rain, the bunkers were not taken care of and some of them had pools of water in them. These problems were probally a result of the course being short staffed because there was no starter either.

I played this course a couple of times 2 tears ago and it it in much better shape right now. I thought the conditions were excellent. Only bad spot were the high spots off the fairway because it has been very dry. Overall I was impressed and will be going back shortly

Staff is among the best I've experienced at any course. Course layout is great with exceptional views of the Long Island Sound. But thats where it ends. The tee boxes are beat up. The greens are slow, bumpy, and full of ball marks that people neglect to fix. The pace of play is downright atrocious!!! The rangers really have to start setting examples and warn people twice that they're behind and holding up play. 3rd time and they should be escorted off the course. I bet my paycheck that once word gets out that they are doing this, more quality golfers will play this course.

Course was in good condition. Greens were slow, bumpy and no one repairs ball marks on the green.

No complaints other than some of the greens having been recently fertilized

Sent groups out B4 tee times. Ranger said there were people spread out and backed up in front of us n he couldn't do anything. Meanwhile there was room for the guys ahead to pick up the pace. He needs to quit because other well run courses will throw people off the course if they don't pick up the pace. Never in 27 years of playing did it take me 6 hours to play. We teed off around 2:00/2:30 and finished after 8:00. If you have a whole day to waste, the course is beautiful. Just need rangers who will do there job. Disgrace

Very poorly managed. Too slow pace the rangers didn't do a good job. Wasted my money. Took 5 and half hours to complete 18 holes, ridiculous. Will never recommend anybody.
