This course rocks
It looks beautiful, is kept in pristine shape, and seems like a private country club
Nice layout, slow greens
Played on a warm Sunday and the flies were out in force. Some of the holes play down by the marsh and I would suppose this is the source of the flies. Play this course in the early spring and fall and that should address the bug issues. Overall a very nice layout with some downright beautiful holes. difficulty is moderate. Back nine tougher than the front. If you like fast true greens look elsewhere as these are hairy and dreadfully slow. Never laid up from 3 feet before.
Great views.
Make sure it isn't too windy, because this location definitely
blows you( your ball) away. It has great views from every hole and enough interest for every level golfer. Par 4's were pretty long.
30 Years
Haven't played at Crab Meadow in 30 years after learning there as a junior. Great views across LI Sound, mixture of easy to hard holes and thoroughly entertaining to play. The course was in decent shape for so early in year and having been so cold this late in the year. The greens were fast and ran true, fairway were a little bumpy and short since the grass is not yet growing.
What a pleasure being back after 30 years, and the other two players in my group loved the course.
Be careful when booking it is a walking rate, does not include cart.
Fun course
Lots of hills and some water hazards make it a nice challange.
Moderate Course with reasonable price.
there's nice view of ocean.
there are bit of challenge courses than nyc area.
