The Swan Golf & Country Club
About
Located just 5 minutes off of the New York State Thruway in Saugerties, The Swan Golf & Country Club (formerly known as The Lazy Swan Golf Course) is a championship 18-hole course designed by Golf Architect Barry Jordan. The course has been exquisitely crafted as “a series of linked passages of natural beauty” with each hole presenting its own unique character and challenges for players to overcome. Players will encounter several cascading and reflection ponds, rock outcroppings, dramatic elevation changes, an alpine garden, and beautiful views of the Catskill Mountains.

Two hour ride
I drove 2 hours to play this course. I will do it again. They had a lot of rain night before, the only place I noticed was in the sand traps that had water in them. The greens were one of the best I played on this year. The fairways were in great shape too. My only warning to you is don't be too far off some of the fairways or you won't find your ball.
Great experience again
Course was in great shape and pace of play was also great for a Sunday morning. Andrew at the pro shop was a great ambassador of the course again as he has always been in the past. Keep up the good, hard work by all the staff including the groundskeepers! Even though the course is an hour away from my home, it is worth the drive.
Swan never disappoints...well......
The course and the conditions were fabulous....staff are friendly for the most part, but they treat GolfNow patrons differently. We had a 1:30 tee time...pulled in at 1...were told we cannot have carts as they were 'coming in' and some were not properly charged. Well, when the 2 carts that were sitting next to the practice green went to another 4some....the 1:40 tee time...we were confused. I asked again if we can get carts to load up bags, etc....were told we can have carts at 1:30....ok not gonna let a bag boy upset me and the crew......got a couple carts that had torn seats and away we go....
Course was in good shape, and we had a blast....but c'mon man...the Swan wants to present as a high end facility.....treat everyone the same.
The swan
Tee boxes were hard as a rock needed two hands to sink my tee into. The traps were filled with packed dirt and stones, No one came out to help with bags or show how to turn on the golf cart gps. I did not eat there but $ 31 for a burger is nuts. The greens fees are average for the area but everything else is sub par
Very good condition but restraurant was closed.
The course was in very good condition and the staff was extremely friendly and professional. It was busy so pace of play was average to slow. Unfortunately the bar restaurant was was being cleaned and wasn't open.
Hidden Gem
Staff was very friendly
Course in great condition
Drove a while to get there but def worth it!
Hidden gem
I had never even heard of this place even though it’s only a little over an hour away from me. Played lots of courses down that way, but was glad I stumbled on this one. Definitely a hidden gem. The little bit I learned was they were closed for Covid for a while now new ownership. Weather was not great so we were literally the only people on the course but the course is super fun, great layout, elevation, change, even has an island green.
Unbelievable views and course conditions
This is such a hidden gem that’s well maintained, fun layout and beautiful views
The Swan 🦢 is back
Joann and Andrew and the rest of the team are doing doing a great job restoring the course. It’s in the best shape right now. Kudos to you all. The greens are perfect. Staff very helpful and friendly . We will be back
Beauty in Saugerties!
While visiting friends in the Catskills we took the opportunity to check out the Lazy Swan. It came recommended by someone in the local area and it did not disappoint. We (3) teed off early on a Friday morning and had no issues with the speed of play. It was extremely enjoyable, although a bit short even from the "tips", it was challenging enough. Conditions were excellent. More players should fix their ball marks, but that's par for the course just about everywhere today. Great value for the price. Didn't have time to take advantage of the 19th hole but it looked very inviting. I highly recommend this course although selfishly I hope it remains a "hidden gem". Kudos to the friendly staff and the maintenance crew. Keep up the great work!
Great value
Love the swan! Hole 8 will have you licking your chops! Greens are true
