Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Improved Conditions
Course is usually well maintained. Onslaught of golfers post pandemic challenged the upkeep and a July round was less enjoyable. Yesterday the conditions were back to pre COVID quality.
Pricing
I first attempted to contact the pro shop to make a reservation but they had just closed for the day and a recording advised making a reservation through Golf Now. One in our party was a resident and the others were seniors. Green fees are typically $25 (resident) and $34 (senior). The only green fee offered by Golf Now was $41 per golfer. Had I waited for the pro shop to open the desired reservation time would no longer have been available. I had hoped to reconcile the additional fee when I checked in but was told the matter was between me and Golf Now. Using Golf Now cost our party an additional $30.
Best value dollar for dollar in Long Island.
Great and friendly staff from the start. Well maintained course from the tee to the greens. Then add value as a public course, half the price of Wind Warch. My favorite course in Long Island.
very nice round
course is very good shape. pace of play was good. a very nice day was had by all.
Very slow play
Waited on every shot. Too many foursomes to complete in 4.5 hours. Had to leave due to darkness
Will not be returning
“Rude Staff”
Very rude guy in the pro shop, the starter wasn’t helpful when I asked questions about the course being it was my first time playing there. No cart girl and I seen the ranger once in 18 holes he was needed to speed up play in front of us. Overall the course is in beautiful shape worth the money I’ll be back to try the west course next spring. I shot 75 from the blues on the East course today !
I love this CC.
It is the most open and widest golf course that I have ever played. My family love playing golf here.
Nice layout-fun course for fall golf
I have gone back to back weeks here. Greens are recovering from aeration still but honestly maybe 4 at the most are still bumpy. I like the layout here it’s a nice mix between fairly open holes and tight fairways. Living nearby helps but I really enjoy playing here and will be back.
Nice layout fun to play
Course was in pretty good shape, some greens were a little jumpy and bumpy from recent aeration. Rough was cut short but ground was really hard but I guess that’s on me to hit it straight. Pace of play was good and Every hole has some sort of challenge!
One of my favorites
It is one of my favorites because it is not easy one but attractive one.
