Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

Nice layout-fun course for fall golf
I have gone back to back weeks here. Greens are recovering from aeration still but honestly maybe 4 at the most are still bumpy. I like the layout here it’s a nice mix between fairly open holes and tight fairways. Living nearby helps but I really enjoy playing here and will be back.
Nice layout fun to play
Course was in pretty good shape, some greens were a little jumpy and bumpy from recent aeration. Rough was cut short but ground was really hard but I guess that’s on me to hit it straight. Pace of play was good and Every hole has some sort of challenge!
Need to help
First off the snack bar should be open at the ninth hole or 10th hole and the Ranger should not just ride around he should make the people that are very slow play faster by the time we got to the 15th hole we were backed up four foursomes that is unacceptable when you have a ranger driving around
Need some improvement
The cost was laid out nice needed more abilities and the grades were just aerated so I really can’t discuss how good they were but I did like the course do you need the Ranger to do something about the people that were in front of us by the time we did it to the 15th hole we were four foursomes behind Gotta do your job dude

Great potential, poor maintenance.
Awesome course if it would be kept better. The conditions were on the lower end of a public course with weeds and grass on tee boxes. Some greens look like they’re in high school facing an evil bout of acne. Pace of play was really, really slow.
Otherwise a fun and challenging design. Generally open and approachable even in the rough. Some really nice long holes that will put your distance clubs to the test.
Poor Conditions
Crab grass on most tee boxes and some fairways. A handful of greens were in good shape but most had dead spots where you were putting on dirt. Teed off at 145 and finished at 630. Won't be back until condition of course improves.

Always great to play here
Pace of play is usually very good. Course is well maintained, although the tee boxes are a little shabby right now. Staff, as always is friendly and accommodating.
Poor shape
This course track is great. Usually in good shape. Don’t know what happened this summer. Crab grass overgrown on most tee boxes. Greens slow as crap. Fungus on some greens. Fairways aren’t what they used to be. Not even in the top 20 public courses on Long Island right now

Great course; greens just a little off.
The course was in very good condition and "green" all around, but the the actual greens were a bit worn and did not roll as well as they would under better conditions. I suppose the hot summer affected them. But the tee boxes and fairways were fine. Pace of play was amazing for a Friday afternoon... never waited. Recommend riding if the weather is hot, as the course has a lot of elevation change and walkers will get wiped out quickly in hot weather.
This course is a good practice course.
The golfnow compete is off for each hole so it is hard to keep track
