Regulation Eighteen at Smithtown Landing Golf Club
About
Smithtown Landing Golf Club offers both an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole executive course. The courses are open to the public on weekdays and to Smithtown residents on the weekends. The Regulation Course has a surprisingly tough layout with subtle but tricky contours throughout that cause some challenging lies. Mature trees line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity and there are also several strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. At 6,114 yards from the back tees, it's a golf course that requires strategy over length, beginning with the first hole. This dogleg right par 4 will force you to carefully think about the placement off the tee. In addition to the two golf courses, Smithtown Landing also has two practice greens with surrounding short game areas and a driving range.

partially satisfied
The course was fair but need to to have pictures of the holes you are about play.
Mid-day Round
A nice challenging course which I was able to play in 4 hours.
Very Nice
Very nice course. Very good playing conditions. Slow play - not sure what the ranger was doing. You're not allowed to drive your cart to the irons-only driving range which is down a long hill - not sure why that is.
Undulations two tier putting
Enjoyable course, played from white tees, which helps because of tight fairways, used a lot of long irons. Played little slow due to crowd on this day but still finished at 5hours. Would recommend and cannot wait to play again. Staff is friendly, has a range to loosen up, course obviously drains well, prior two days had heavy rain, with no residue. Greens are tough putting and exciting due to two tier/undulations and elevated greens.
The course is fine
I have played the course several times and I always find it in good shape and challengeing
Great Day
Had a great round. The staff is supper friendly and course in great condition. Would highly recommend.
Thanks for a great round.
Smithtown Landing
Nice course , there are a few blind shots . Don't know if it's available but wish I had a course book. Also no pictures of each hole at tee boxes . Challenging for a shorter coarse placement a must off the tee . Very slow greens could be the time of year will try again in a few weeks
Very Good value!
The overall pace of play was good for a change .the greens were a little slow but weren't too bad.Over all value was good.
NIce course; poor facilities
The course plays well but the facilities were poor. No course design on the back of the score cards or on the Tee boxes. Half way house was closed even though we were told at the Pro Shop that it would be open. Badly maintained driving range not to mention extremely old range balls.
Would have liked Aeration warning
Beautiful day. But course was recently aerated and the greens were a sandy mess. We would have liked to know this ahead of time or offered a significant discount. I generally will not trust this course on Golf Now and thus probably will not be playing there again. It's a shame b/c the layout was very nice.
Good track.
Course was in good condition for the time of season.
Also has a great Par3 course to get some iron play.
Would recommend playing either courses.
Good value for the money
Only negative is golfers have to criss-cross the street and have to watch out for oncoming cars.
Great Course
Great Course . Excellant Value for the money . Will definitely play this course again
Slowest Ever
The play was super slow. I quit after 14 holes. No ranger. No cart person. Concession stands were closed. Don't waste your money.
Lesson Remembered
I called them at 3:30PM on Wed. 9/10 to see if I could get out as a single around 4PM. They said they had a High School match but could get me out on the back 9. After paying for 9 holes the starter sent me out on the 1st tee by myself. There was a 3some on the 1st green so I took my time. Got to the 2nd tee and they were 50 yards out looking for balls. 20 minutes later I teed off, again taking it slow. Went to 3rd tee and there were 2 groups waiting to tee off and another group in the fairway. I drove past them hoping to find an open hole. Drove the entire course and saw multiple groups on every hole. At that point I drove back to the pro shop and quit. I informed them of the situation. No offer of a refund, raincheck or anything. Forgot to mention that no one told me (phone, pro shop, starter) that they had aerated the day before. I used to play here when I was younger and I guess I forgot how bad it was.
Always in nice shape
Lots of doglegs where it is difficult to determine where to aim such as you don't drive through the fairway also some have blind landing areas. Also Beware of OB including internal OB.
Local course
Nice track. Greens are in good shape this time of year.
Tough course - great condition.
A real chalenge. Not many flat lies but friendly staff and great condition.
Overall Good time
This is a very player friendly course-but only the young should walk this track-very hilly with multiple level changes. Greens were maintained in good shape by groundskeepers, its the players fault for not fixing ball marks and there is way too much evidence of that unfortunately. Rough was consistent and yery player friendly, traps were well groomed. My only dislike about this course is the parking lot is rather far from 1st tee, and if you come alone you either drop you bag and hope its still there after you park and trek back to pro shop, or park and carry bag in and repeat process after round when you are really tired for us Sr. buffers ,as no carts are allowed in parking lot. The same goes for driving range which is a long walk up and down hill, without carts, only to find out no drivers are allowed. Views are awesome, with this being one of the nicest municipal courses around. I'll be back-you should too.
