Rushed. Absolutely rushed. If you want to feel like you have to rush and be uncomfortable, come here.
Great course and nice improvements, but slow play.
I loved seeing the new improvements at this course: new fence on #15, new halfway house between #3 and #4, and improved landscaping. Grass is growing now, the course was playing well. Greens were rolling fast and in good condition. Only complaint was the constant waiting on every hole. 5-hour round on a weekday is unacceptable. Course was packed with golfers, so there wasn't much the ranger could do.
Smithtown Landing Rocks!
The course is in fantastic shape. The crew at Landing always has the course in great condition. The greens were very challenging the day we played. Love The Landing!
Pace of play killed the round
Despite great course conditions the pace of play was borderline unbearable. It wasn’t just one slow group but just overbooked tee times. The round took over 5 hourse.

nice town course
Took 4.5 hr . Greens coming back from aeration but 100% better than previous week. When the greens are back in another 2 wks, the course will be in great shape. The super is doing a good job maintaining the course.

Nice but be warned
Course and employees both very nice and user friendly. But an incident involving juveniles during play made for a not very enjoyable day. It seems their having problems with on property residential youths coming on course and causing g mischief. Our experience was that 3 juveniles entered our fairway and one of them stole our golf cart. Luckily while pursuing him he crashed the cart into the fence aligning the fairway. The staff handled the event very well and I would still play there again but keep my cart key with me.
Covid issues
Repairs and Covid issues, halfway house closed could not even use bathrooms, however repairs being done in March is more then reasonable. Course was in very good condition for March, and work was ongoing to improve but never effected play. Course is good enough for me to book an outing there later in the year.
Beautiful Rolling Hills
I enjoyed the challenge provided by the setting at Smithtown Landing yesterday. The only criticism is that they need an active Ranger patrolling the course. We got caught behind a very slow foursome and our back nine took 3 hours.
