Course with a lot of potential
The golf course layout was challenging and could make for a lot of fun. The staff was extremely pleasant. The majority of the greens were in bad shape. The golf course has a lot of potential and we will try it again next season when the world is not as crazy.....hopefully.
Very poorly managed course
Course is poorly maintained and designed. Almost every hole is a dog leg where you can’t see the pin at the tee box. Leave your driver at home. Tee boxes were full of sand and most greens were completely eroded, even for $10 I wouldn’t play this course again. Golf carts are nice though.
You couldn't pay me to play here
I played on a Saturday and was charged 75$ which is pretty normal for a course. But oh my god was this course a disaster . On the turn we got a drink at the bar and I said to one of the workers "wow greens are in great shape" (onbivouly being sarcastic) he replied "yea aren't they" and he was dead serious. Every green was just a dirt patch. I recommend saving your money for somewhere else. If you can't keep up a course don't be charging people full price.
Good value
Not the best course in the area but it’s $25 for a round in the late afternoon which can’t be beat. Conditions are pretty good but greens are a weak spot. I play here 2-3 times per month.
Disappointing
Layout is good. Tee boxes are terrible. Many greens are burned out. Fairway also has bad areas with no grass. The course has gone down hill for the past few years, and is in great need of repair.
Dissapointed
I heard lots of great things about this course. Needless to say I was disappointed. As I drove through a townhouse complex, I was sure I was going the wrong way, but sure enough my GPS was right, as always. Pulling up to parking lot and club house had me questioning if I was in the right place. It was a gorgeous 80 degrees and the lot was pretty empty. Hole after hole, I began to see why. With very narrow fairways and super hilly holes, rocky lies and bumpy cart baths, dry-patched greens and very slow play, it’s not a course I’ll be going back to. There were a few decent holes and the price was good, but I’d rather pay the $10-20 more for a far better course. I give this course a 3 out if 5.
You Get What You Pay For
The Tee Boxes and Greens are, for the most part, terrible. The fairways are, for the most part, pretty well maintained. This is a relatively challenging course, with only two or three blind shots, but plenty of doglegs, uphill greens, narrow fairways and bunkers protecting greens and fairway landing areas. We paid $27 for the round, and they charge $10 total for a cart. So for the price, I feel the sandy tee boxes and burnt out greens are worth the price. I would not pay any more than $32 for a round however. I do wish they would charge $50 per round and fix the tee boxes and greens, but as it stands I think it's worth the price.
Hit It Straight
Challenging layout winding through Heritage Hills Community in Somers. Demands straight drives - wayward shots will be lost. Fair amount of elevation changes and small water hazards. Walking is a real workout. Fairways were a little burned out from the hot August weather. All-in-all, good value course for the money.
Embarrassed to call this a goof course
Booked a tee time online the week before. We saw that it was a walking only rate, so we immediately called the course to confirm that we can get a cart upon arrival. We were told that all we needed to do was pay 15 dollars each and we can get a cart. That being said we kept our tee time.
Now the fun begins. We show up to the course to be told that there is a good chance they won’t have golf carts available for my group. Not only did the pro shop conform that carts would be available they never told us that they had limited amount of carts when we asked. This would have been nice to know prior.
Now that we got our carts, the carts are broken. Our GPS broke before we even teed off, luckily we were able to get a new cart. The group in front of us had a cart die on the second hole!!!
Now for the course. I have never seen such little effort put in to maintain a golf course. Tee boxes were more like sand boxes, and unfortunately I can’t even call the greens, greens. More like browns. The entire green was just dead mush.
The fairway and rough were all dead, there were barely any cart paths, it was just an overall terrible experience.
This course needs ALOT of work done to it for it to be considered playable. It takes effort for a golf course to be in this bad of shape.
The layout of the course has potential to be a difficult course, but I think the hardest part about the course was finding something to like.
Unfortunately the best parts of the round was watching my friend enjoy his snickers bar waiting to tee off on 10, and getting in my car to drive home.
Can you give ZERO stars

Tough Shape
Course in rough condition, pace of play slow and not managed to combine twosomes. A lot of blind tee shots and a ton of dogleg. Solid tiki bar at the turn.
Fantastic Course and Staff
We had a fantastic round at Somers National. The course was in wonderful condition and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Our experience was a extremely pleasant and I highly recommend it to anyone in Westchester / Putnam county.
Course has potential yet not well maintained
For a busy Saturday the pace was great, the holes were challenging yet for the fees we thought the greens should have been in better shape.
