Somers National Golf Club

This course could greatly improve the playing experience by adding yardage markers (100, 150, 200) on the par 4’s and 5’s that are easy to locate. Some holes have tiny 150 markers embedded in the fairways that are difficult to find unless right near them. Rakes to tidy up the sand traps would be nice too. Overall, this can be a challenging course to play with some tough dog legs and elevation changes on almost every hole. Make a bad or poorly placed shot and it will cost you a stroke.

Played Friday 5/4/2018 at 1.20pm. The course condition and staff friendliness was excellent . The pace of play was execellent till 4pm. Then got behind a a group on 10th who played really slow but the course and course condition were excellent to make up for that a minor hiccup . it’s a private country club with challenging golf course, golfnow had great price including cart to make it worth every penny. I purchased a hot deal from Golf Now for this course, which is 45 mins from my house. I went to the course only to find out that the course was closed. Golf Now never checked with the course to see if they were open. Took a day off work for the beautiful weather and lost out on everything. Thanks for nothing Golf Now.

Course was in good shape. Definitely not easy to score low. Narrow,and no room for offline shots.enjoyable if you are not easily frustrated

this was my first time playing this course for being so late in the season the course was in excellent shape. There are a lot of blind shots and the course is not very well marked so a golf buddy or any golf app is a must have to play this course. Other than that it is an excellent course to play very challenging.

Greens were in excellent condition. Nice landscaping, and course design. Pace was slow due to a golf outing in front of us. Pro Mike was very personable. Note the course name did not come up on my Swing By Swing app. However, I was able to use it. I believe the course name on the app came up as Heritage.

This course is in great shape. The greens are fairly fast and there is quite a bit of undulation.

I would not suggest this course for women with a high handicap.

Great course with many tricky holes. If playing again could play much better. Lots of blind shots off tee.

Greens had just been aerated but still ok. Fairways were as good as they get. Very tight and lost a lot of balls but was still great fun. Pace was fantastic and staff was even better. Very good experience. First time here but will definitely go back.

Lots of thought needed off the tee. Blind shots. GPS with intermediate distances a must. Challenging and fun.

Nestled in the hills of Somers is this well kept gem of a course. Very challenging as there are some very tight fairways. Great course to play will definitely come back the next time I'm in town.

Somers Pointe is a nice course but it is tight and mostly doglegs. Some cool elevation changes as well.You need to be able to hit 180-200 yard consistently to get around. Always in great shape and pace is fine. Staff is always friendly. Nice bar and grill as well.

Played this course several times in the past and always liked it. However, it is in dire need of some serious improvements, course and in general. Tee-boxes in very poor shape, greens dirty and not kept up. Really sad to see this very nice course going down.

A real stinker was the soda and candy bar bought from the cart on the course. Soda was expired - no joke - Sept 2015. Explanation given was that new management has taken over and works through existing stock. Got my money back and apologies from cart lady, new management couldn care less. Won't go back until things are addressed.
