Get it together
Second round here so far this year and even though it’s still early, American golf continues to neglect this course! Tee boxes have more sand than the traps!! Not a single garbage can or ball washer anywhere in sight. No starter or Ranger, carts 🛒 terrible. Where does all the “Players Club” money 💰 go? Smarter players bringing grocery bags to range since never seems to be enough baskets. I’ve been playing here since inception of players club and they have done nothing but take away perks. Only 1 beverage instead of 2 and better get that drink before you tee off, 1 “large” bucket of balls if your lucky. If your unlucky you’ll get stuck behind golfers who have NO business playing from tips and love to join up and play as 5 & 6somes all the while paying skins off on each green!😷. The Chow group are particularly annoying. When whoever is in charge of maintaining fairways and greens put in time and effort this course can be great( like before the S.I open) the rest of year makes you wonder if anyone cares. It’s still golf and late in day quite pleasant. Somehow somebody seems to book the 12pm and 12:09 tee times EVERY DAY 🤮
Sad condition
Very disappointed in the course conditions! Total lack of maintenance in many months. No staffing including pro shop, starter, Marshall, only one person in bar /restaurant area to sell tee times. No tee markers on the worn out teeing area's Multiple flooded bunkers which haven't been machined since last fall. All this while charging Top Dollar on a Monday morning. Need I say more ??
Not open but took my money
The course ended up being closed and by the time I realized it I couldn’t cancel my tee time. So I paid 90 dollars to drive back home.
Yes
Best condition this course has been this time of year in a long time. Still not worth the $80 greens fees
Best city course
Played on 10/23/22- Tee time was 10:39 am and didn't have a group behind us. There were a lot of leaves on the ground which made it hard to find our ball and bunkers were full of water from the rain the night before but course seems like its decently kept.
Conditions
Conditions Greens were in great shape rolled nicely couple tee boxes need some grass they were very full of sand and no grass but the course overall was in very good shape compliments to the staff
LaTourette Golf Course
Nice layout, greens in good shape. Early morning tee time was lightly attended so groups were spaced generously. apart. No waiting on the tees. No one hitting up on you. Very rare on a city course. Maybe the extra toll to get into Staten Island keeps golfers away? Whatever, we really enjoyed the pace of play and we had a first timer in our group. First time on a regulation golf course. Of course we gave some tips and encouragement and allowed plenty of mulligans. He really enjoyed himself. We all had a great time.
American golf should let this course go
Continuous predictable slow rounds due
to two reasons that ruin golf for anyone that plays here especially on weekends.first is the golfers that play there play like they are on tv.
They don't know how to keep the pace moving. Second there is no one aka a ranger
To move the slow groups and there are always multiple groups with entire holes open in front of them while the rest of course has three groups on a hole. Go to NJ better conditions better value. No contingent of clueless players like at latourette with no rangers.
Very Happy
Course looked great, greens in great condition. A few tee boxes a bit banged up on back 9 but overall very nice
A bit far, but worth the effort to get to
One of the nicer NY public courses. Worth the trip.
