Another top NY State Course
NY State seems to take golf a step above NJ. Everything about this course is top notch. A step below being private.
Well worth it
New York State golf courses are very well known for playability and condition. Similar to bethpage. I think this course cares and maintains its facilities very well. Highly recommended.
Unprofessional and Hostile Communication from Staff
I reached out regarding a golf club listing posted by this golf course, and was met with an incredibly unprofessional, hostile response over a simple, polite negotiation attempt. Rather than responding respectfully or declining, the individual went on a personal tirade complete with insults and condescending remarks that had absolutely no place in any customer interaction, let alone one representing a golf facility.
If this is the kind of behavior endorsed or tolerated by staff here, I’d be extremely hesitant to give this course my business. Golf is a sport rooted in class, etiquette, and sportsmanship values clearly not reflected in my experience.
Do better.
This course is a great value course. It's not the nicest public course in the area conditioning-wise, but honestly it's only a small step down from the best as far as I'm concerned, and you're paying half the price to play here. It's a fairly open track, for the most part, but has some really fun, memorable holes (5, 6, 9, 13, 15, and 16) thrown in which provide a good challenge. . Overall, it's a really fun course that I'd be glad to play again.
👍
The clubhouse food here is amazing.
I absolutely love their fish and chips!
This post has absolutely nothing to do with Philip J Rotella Golf Course. Apparently, the reviewer saw a listing of a golf club being sold and made a low offer for it and he didn't care for the no thanks answer. Why he is berating pace of play, course conditions, value for money makes no sense? nor is it all helpful to anyone thinking about playing Rotella. He never stepped foot on our property. He claims a polite negotiating attempt. Too funny!
