Tee time???
I made a 12:07 tee time. When I arrived well in time for my reservation there was a line of atleast 10 golf carts. I was told they were running 30 min behind schedule but clearly it was going to be much longer than that. What's the point of making a reservation if the course can't maintain pace of play?
Not recommended.
Very nice Public City Course in queens NY.
When i first arrived there the man checking me in for my tee time said that i still had to pay (what his computer told him) even tho i put everything on my card. After showing him the confirmation email from golfnow and that i owed 0 at the course he promptly changed it within his computer without hassle. Beautiful Course within a park in queens. The golf Carts were a little old but had no problem running. The first 14 holes moved very nice until we got to the 15th hole we were backed up until the end. Very nice course presented a challenge for me. really enjoyed playing there and had a great time. Coming back to Long Island, Hit a lot of traffic. probably wouldnt play around that time again because of traffic issues.
Don't waste your time and money
Only played 9 holes because play was so slow. Almost 5 hours for 9 holes is ridiculous. Staff so unfriendly and not helpful at all. They don't care of the customer. Don't waste your money at this golf course, better to pay a bit more and play on a course where they appreciate you. They oversell tee times and stater is there for decoration. If your up for a traffic jam at a golf course this is your place
Rating based on fact that Wednesday and thurs rained and saturday forecast was rain also so everyone tried to play friday

Slow, Slow and inconsiderate people!!!
Slow, Slow and inconsiderate players!!!
It took us almost 6 hr to play this short and very bad condition
course!!!
Never Again!!!!
very challenging and friendly course
Very challenging course
too much money for course
how much you pay there should be a much nicer course for $60.
Friendly staff, Played in 4 hours in the morning..
Go early and play at your own pace
Nice course, great value. Perfect for golfers of all skill levels.
This course is a moderately challenging, short design, that doesn't require you to "swing out of your shoes" every time you tee it up. A lot of modern courses put a premium on hitting the ball far, but that can really hurt players like myself who have a great short game but struggle to hit a 430yard par-4 in two. Forest Park is a shorter design that emphasizes accuracy and short iron distance control. The fairways are tree lined and some of the greens are very short front-to-back. You need to hit the middle of the fairway or you risk having a tree interfere with your shot into the green. There is also some nice elevation change on this course, so you'll have some uphill/downhill shots that will test your ability to judge distance.
My only complaint is that sometimes the trees are unfairly close to the green. There are some holes where a tree will be so close to the front of the green that the branches will interfere with your shot, even from the fairway. Course management really needs to trim back some of the tree branches (a good example are the trees near the front right side of the 4th green which overhang the fairway).
This course probably has the fastest pace of play of any of the NYC courses. This is probably because of the relatively short length of the course, and the somewhat flat greens. I walked the course in 3.5 hrs, the first 9 I was alone, and the second 9 I joined with 2 others.
Price was a great value. I paid $21 to walk 18 holes on a weekday afternoon in the winter.
badly maintained, too crowed.
Really not good to play. Nothing to say more. Why require so many word here? It is not convenient for golfnow customers to talk so much. So next time I don't want to review the course again.
Forest Park or Forest Bog
I played on a Tuesday morning around 9am. The starter was nice and fit me in without a reservation. Now, I know why! It had rained a little the prior night. Not a hurricane but some rain. Remember, the area just came off a week of 95+ degree heat. There was standing water in fairways. The fairways were damp and thin to the point of almost having no grass.
The pace of play was horrible given it was a Tuesday morning. I played 16 holes in 4.5 hours; unacceptable, given the course is extremely short and not overly difficult.
I paid $60 for green fees and a cart for a weekday round. If you can drive, there are FAR MORE options for cheaper prices and a better golf experience a little further out in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
For the price and quality, Forest Park is overpriced. My hope is management uses the money to reinvest into the course's drainage facilities
It was very well maintained.
I would play it several more times this fall, weather permitting.
Good course
Most of the ball washers don't work. Course was in good shape. Has very little amenities.
Solid public course close to the city
I went there @ 830am tee off so not too packed and conditions were pretty good for a public course in late September
Tee boxes need attention
Overall the course was maintained except for the tee boxes. I enjoyed the layout and would play it again.
