Big Mo
Course is in fine shape except for hole 12 which was closed. Not sure of the reason. It looked playable to me. Other wise it's still the jewel of the Westchester county public courses.
I want More MO
It was a sunny day early in the season and our Tee time was at 12:30. I knew it would be a long round but actually, it wasn't so bad, maybe 4.5 hours. Greens were in great shape for April and the turf was surprisingly grown in. The rough had some hard pan which is exacerbated by people driving on the playing surface before the grass has been given time to root properly. All in all, Big Mo is a great course with an old time challenging design. Go Play!

Great course and it helps I got a hole in one on fifth hole!
Congratulations! Please come and see us again soon.
Thank you for leaving us four stars, Nick!
Thank you for leaving us five stars!
Disappointed
We have played this course many times of the years and today was a great disappointment. We had an 11:54 tee time and we arrived early to the pro shop to pay. We went over to the first tee about 15 minutes before our tee time and there were 4 foursomes waiting. We finally talked to the starter after he was done chatting with all the other golfers and he told us we were # 5 on the tee. We asked why the backup and he said it’s really packed on the course. If that was the case, why wasn’t anything said when we checked in at the pro shop ? If this wasn’t bad enough, the group in front of us were playing so slow and there wasn’t a ranger on the course to speed them up.
So you have played this course many times over the years and didn't think it would be crowded with an 11 something tee time?
We're very sorry to hear about the slow play. We understand that can absolutely be frustrating. We will pass along your feedback to our management staff.
Nice but long
despite the winter condition the course was in good shape. Main issue : a lot of par 4’s are fairly long. The greens are challenging and quite fast
Thank you for leaving us a great feedback and four stars! We hope to see you again next season.
Always a challenge
Like the course and layout. The tees were not in great shape, and the traps were terrible. Greens were fine and had good roll.
Thank you for the very helpful feedback. We'll pass it along to our management staff.
Challenging
You’ll earn your pars on this course. Blind approaches on some of the front nine holes add to the challenge. Many elevated greens. Overall conditions are very good for this county operated course.
Difficult for seniors
Impossible to get to hole in regulation for a senior. Ninth hole is impossible. Walked 3 1/2 miles. No accommodation for any one with a handicap.
Excellent condition after deluge
Course had no restrictions after 2 1/2 inches of heavy rain the day before.
Great staff work by maintenance crew to mow rough after deluge
Time for repairs
This course is challenging with hills and undulations on most fairways. The fairways are starting to show some wear and tear from use. The back nine is in need of attention more than the front.
Some TLC could have this course in fine shape for next season.
Great course/ needs new staff
Well maintained course. Ranger was very nasty. Acted like someone was forcing him to do his cushy job. Woman that works pro shop just stands by front door and smokes and throws butts right in front. Sour staff!
Nice course , nasty staff
Nice course , well maintained for a county course. Can’t understand why woman that works in pro shop can get away with standing out front and smoking and throwing butts on ground. Ranger was very nasty. Old curmudgeon. Needs new friendly staff that appreciates their cushy jobs!
Great Layout
Really enjoyable course and in very good condition. Best lower Westchester county course.
Good value for public course
Greens were small and in good shape. Very nice layout and a good challenge. A few blind shots but I played with friends that knew the course so not an issue for me.
As public courses go this one is worth it. Easy to get to too. Right off the Taconic exit.
Ate lunch first and had a good meal.
I will be back. Would definitely recommend this track
Mohansic is worth the drive on July 4th
I went and played at Mohansic Golf Courae because I needed somewhere close to Yonkers since I was meeting family there to watch fireworks later that evening and didn’t want to play Sprain Lake or Dunwoodie again. I am so happy I made the 80 minute trek from New Jersey and can see me driving there to play on a weekend every now and then.
Mohansic is a beautiful course which pushed me to hit different clubs off of the tee, partially due to the many blind tee shots and elevation changes, but also to have the correct path into the green. The fairways were well defined by the rough and the greens rolled well. It’s a good hilly walk without too many long distances between holes.
The Mohansic Grill at the turn has a good selection of food at fair prices and there are water coolers out on the course.
The highlight of my round was getting a chance to play with the Club Pro, Max Calloway, as he was able sneak out and joined our threesome on the 5th hole. Watching his approach on how to score well on the 3 holes we played, has given me further reason to play Mohansic again.
