Slow and steady
Not a bad round although the sprinklers came on at some inoportune times and High Schoolers dominiated the field
Solid track, local knowledge helps with tricky layout and greens
Great conditions, especially for a county course. Played this course for the first time and staff was friendly and accommodating. Despite the beautiful temperature, winds were heavy making this track play long and difficult. A great day of golf with great weather along with friendly locals. What more can you ask for? Was glad to make the drive to northern Westchester from the City.

I enjoyed the course. Some very good holes. My favorite was #15 short, par 4, but all up hill. Keep it below the hole. Plenty of blind shots off the tee, but there wasn't much trouble, except the group in front of you. Over 5 hours on a weekday, just way too long. And no ranger
Well run public course
Mohansic is a long course with many long but wide open fairways. Overall it is very well maintained and has a beautiful setting. The halfway house has a very good selection of food and drink. It is challenging to walk but the course has benches at every tee box, which is something that people who walk appreciate. Consider driving if you're not in top shape. ONe hole is steep enough that the regulars call it heart attack hill.
very good
a lot of fun, great value, now with the electronic carts they should put a fifteen minute time limit per hole to help the system move faster. one warning then charge
Wouldn't honor my reservation through Golfnow
I made a reservation through Golf Now , the morning I was going to play I received
a cancellation from the golf course. When I called they told me they wouldn't honor Golf Now reservation. I had to get a refund from golf now and wasn't able to play. Pretty bad business if you ask me. Chose another course there are many other great courses to play in the area !
Mohansic
Found course in good shape. Greens were ridiculous! They were like table tops. Could use a cart person on the course.
Kicked my butt and made me smile
I really enjoyed my first round here. It's quite a challenge for the uninitiated. Several blind tee shots to landing areas that are angled, and tight.. I imagine I should have more success finding my target lines with subsequent rounds but it provides a good shot making challenge. I think the greens were in fine shape but were slower than they looked. I loved the clubhouse grill and its ambience. I will definitely make the trip north from my Bronx home for future rounds! One caveat: I'm a walker and it's not really a walker's course especially for a first round. Take a cart.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We're happy to hear that your round was fun AND challenging. Please come and visit with us again soon!
Great round
Course is in great condition for the amount of traffic it gets on weekends.
Thank you for taking the time to review us! Please come and play again soon!
Fun day out
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Tee boxes looked a bit worn but part of that could be simply from the time in the season of when we played.
Sprinklers typically come on during play which can be inconvenient and impact pace of play.
I played with a foursome that included 3 teenagers and everyone had a good time.
Thank you for the feedback! We're glad to hear that you had a great time with us and we hope to see you again soon!
Pastoral pleasure
Great course. Lots of elevation change and many target shots. It is easy to frustrate your self if you try to over power course. Rather you must understand your limitations and figure out from where best to approach elevated greens! Be prepared for challenges and putts that break ( some a lot)! Been at it many years on this track and it never gets old. Played yesterday as a twosome in 3.5 hours!
Thank you for the great review, Andy! We appreciate your great tips and hope to see you again soon!
Fun lay out with lots of slopes
Challenging fun course. The only problem is that they turned on the sprinklers in the middle of our round at noon. Quite inefficient and some slow players in front of us. We had a great time regardless
Oops! We apologize for the sprinklers going on during your round and hope we didn't get you wet! Thank you for playing with us and for the great rating despite the sprinklers. Please come back and play with us again soon!
Highly Recommend
I was 10 minutes late for my tee time and the staff was very friendly and accommodating and was able to put me in the next possible grouping.
Overall shorter course with many blind tee shots but all in all great layout. Not many water or sand hazards which makes the course very forgiving. There was a water cooler on every 3 holes and a snack shack when you make the turn. Also fairly inexpensive considering GPS in the golf carts and the upkeep of the grounds.
The amenities were great, staff was great and the course was very nice..I would highly recommend this course especially if you don't like being punished for errant shots.
Thank you for your 5 Star review! We are thrilled to hear that you had an excellent experience with us and would recommend our course to others. We hope to have you on the course again soon for another round!
Favorite Westchester County Course
Mohansic is my favorite Westchester County course. It is nice to see the county courses on GolfNow.
It is a fairly "classic"-type course with a nice variation of holes and no "tricked-up" plays (like Hudson Hills). Water only on one hole but you have to drive the ball well to score well here. A couple of the greens have a lot of slope and are pretty penal before they grow in around May.
The course seems to be in better shape each year recently. And many regulars are remarking that both greens and fairways are about as nice as they can remember. The greens are not fast because, as a public course, they see a lot of rounds and cretins that don't repair marks. But they are about as nice as you can get, given that constraint.
Thank you for your review! We are proud to be considered your favorite course in Westchester County. Hope to see you for your next round soon!
Must play
A friend and I were able to book using a hot deal discount which is always a plus. We were paired with another 2 gentlemen who were fun to play with and exchange pleansantries. We all had a great time. We were following a 3 some and a 3 some was following us (walking). The course is in great shape right now, the greens are lush like carpet and deceptively faster than you would expect. There is a great mix of open, blind, challenging, and not so challenging holes for all types of golfers. You wouldn't waste your time playing here and the expectation should be to play a little slower on a Friday-Sunday tee time in the late afternoon with beautiful weather. If you or someone in your group can get impatient avoid playing at this time or with those individuals. Golf is suppose to be enjoyed at a reasonable pace of play with great company and that's what we received yesterday.
Thank you for your review, Raheem! We appreciate you taking the time to give other golfers some feedback on our course. Hope to see you again soon!
Nice course, greens need work
Greens need work, I would say 2 need to be redesigned green does not hold ball. Greens uneven bumpy. Tap it and back off green. With better greens course could be excellent.
Thanks for the feedback, Larry. We will take it into consideration as we are constantly working on improving the conditions of our course. Come back and play again in the future!
Long course for seniors
The course is in good shape. Quite a few blind shots which makes it difficult and even frustrating if it's your first time playing the course. No senior tees - many holes are much too long from the whites. Some par 4's play like a par 5 if you can't hit 250 yards off the tee.
Thanks for reviewing us. We hope you enjoyed your experience with us enough to come back for a future round!
