Pace of Play is Atrocious
This was the first round of golf that I have ever played that genuinely made me not want to play the rest of the round. We teed off thirty minutes late. The starter was very nice but clearly was doing the jobs of several others. Blind tee shots that require you to drive up 100-200 yards to ensure nobody is on the fairway. Get a bell to notify the group behind that it’s safe. Simple. At hole 14 we were 4.5 hours deep into our round. We lost all interest at that point. At the end it was nearly a six hour round. No ranger to facilitate play. Everyone should be able to play golf in a reasonable amount of time. I hope the staff can turn things around because this course has a lot of potential. Some simple fixes would improve pace and enjoyment for all.
Extremely rude Starter
Overall a nice course to play. BUT: I had a towel supporting a politician and the starter forced me to take it off my bag and put it away. He claimed it was against course rules and threatened to kick me out if I didn’t take it off. Just a heads up.
Looking forward for next tee time
Had a great day . The atmosphere was amazing
Thank you
It's tooooo slow
They can't get the pace of play right. Every round is 5 hours. There are no rangers to close gaps. And there is no encouragement to have golfers play from the proper tees based on their handicap. Not a fun afternoon
No mention of ladies league
Booked tee time
Arrived at course to find out ladies league playing
12 holes took over 4 hours quit after 12 learned my lesson
Ughhh
Do yourself a favor and pick up a new hobby before playing here
If you have 6 1/2 hours to kill playing 9 holes this place rules. The course is in worse shape than an abandoned house’s lawn. Now factor in people show up(80 percent of them can’t break 110) like Taylor Swift is playing a show on the turn and you have Mohansic. I’d quicker go see my in-laws in Long Island on a Sunday than come back here. Never again. If you have an ounce of self respect you’ll never set foot on this atrocity.
Great course
I am a beginner and felt great to olay there, nice layout, pace was great and just had lots of fun.
Beware of Sprinklers-Ridiculous!
Nice layout, and did a nice job with 5th hole making green less severe. its playable now. Pace was slow. 4 hrs 50 min. I think they just cram golfers onto the course without enough spacing. There were some rangers but couldn't tell if they were pushing any slow groups along or even if there were slow groups to move along. Overall course is a nice hilly layout with some challenging holes.
My biggest pet peeve are the sprinklers. Played mid-afternoon. On hole 9, I was parked on the cart path right next to the tee box. Without warning the sprinklers come on, soak my golf cart, ruined some stuff in my cart (phone was in cart too). Sent our group scrambling. This happened multiple times throughout the round, both on greens and tee boxes. UNACEPTABLE!!! Had to rush puts to avoid sprinklers on a few ocassions. Give me a break. I understand the need to water, but it should be done in a way that while golfing you are not constantly dodging sprinkers and getting wet. Hire people to turn them on in between groups hitting on greens and tees. Seems like they just come on randomly. How is this putting the customer first? Mentioning this, but I am sure sadly nothing will change.
Good Course,but….
It’s summer in NY. The course has no hydration except one refreshment stand on the turn. Come on where’s the water.? Buy some Gatorade buckets fill with ice and water. Really not costly or difficult.
Good Course, Bad pace
After 3pm on weekdays is now unbearable due to $5 junior rates. No ranger policing pace of play adds to the frustration.
