Quail Creek Golf Course

About
Quail Creek Golf Club is tied for being the most difficult public course in the St. Louis area. Designed by Hale Irwin, the course is laid across rolling hills laced with meandering streams. The layout requires accuracy with narrow fairways and hard-to-read greens. Water hazards come into play frequently as do trees and bunkers. It is a formidable test for any skill level. Most of the holes have a risk-reward element, making the course more accessible by placing an emphasis on strategy over strength. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 ninth. It will favor golfers who successfully cut the corner, making it possible to reach the green in two. This tricky hole demands accurate mid-iron play. Quail Creek Golf Club finishes with an interesting par 4 that has water along the left side of both the fairway and green.

Waste neither your time nor your money on this course.
Over the past 6 - 7 years that i have been playing in St. Louis, this is the worst course of all. Nothing has obviously been done to improve its condtion. Greens are terrible, fairlways are thin and tee boxes are hard and rough. Also, the cart paths are in TERRIBLE shape. With the money the conty is saving via the solar panels used for power, that money should be spent imaking the NECESSARY improvement.
Needs more water
Course is not being maintained very well. Very dry and greens have fungus. Needs a lot of TLC to make it worth playing.
Great course!
Always a pleasant round. Considering the St Louis weather, course in great shape for fall! Greens in pretty good shape, fairways awesome. Pace of play , good. Staff excellent! Hope to play there a few more rounds this year.
Great for the price!
This is a tricky course, but a fun layout. Some of the fairways are a little dried out in some patches, but overall not bad. The greens overall seem to be in good shape, and have come a long way since my first time out here. But there are still some greens with patches of grass missing, so still some work to do. Overall, if you can play this course for under $30-35, it’s worth it.
Worth the Price
When I was deciding where to play last weekend, I began to read some of the reviews on this place. As one might imagine, it nearly scared me off. I am very glad I decided to go anyway.
First things first, don't expect a 5* course at $20 a round, but for the price this is an absolutely fine place to play. The tee boxes were a bit hard, which made hitting driver a bit awkward but after that it was smooth sailing. It's a mostly straight course on the front with a bit more variety on the back. The greens were in acceptable condition for the most part.
All in all, if you're looking for a quick round for a great deal, look no further.
Super arrogant staff
They charged me for 18 Even though they said I could only play 9 and didn’t give me my money back. Course looked terrible..I would never play here again even if it was free because the staff was so mean. Terrible course
Cart-paths are probably softer than tee boxes
Booked on GolfNow for 18 holes for $20+fees. Course said you can only play 9 after 3pm and it was GolfNow's fault. Course was rock hard in the tee boxes and fairways. Most tee boxes wouldn't take a tee and any ball in the fairway would roll 50 yards. I wouldn't pay even $20 for a round of golf here and I'm ok to play about any course. Save your money and play elsewhere.
Not worth it
Greens were very damaged. Course is very dried out. Staff is not friendly. This has been a problem in past and has definitely not gotten better.
Good for the price
overall, good deal for the price. The course was a little dry, had trouble even getting a tee into the ground on most tee boxes. Cart path was a little rough, be prepared for a bumpy ride. Besides that, good course for that price.
This course needs work!
This course needs improvements. Greens were in very bad shape. Tee boxes were hard and the grass was high. Cart paths are in very poor shape.
Had a good time
My wife and I played the back 9. Tee boxes and fairways are in descent shape, but the putting greens need some attention.. This is a nice golf course, it just needs some landscaping maintenance around the club house.
Great course, greens terrible
I love this course. It's a great lay out. It's not too long, it's not too short. The staff is great and the carts are good. The fairways are well kept and the rough isn't too thick. There are only about 5 good greens though. The rest I believe have that disease that makes kills the grass. Alot of mud and dark spots. Wouldn't matter if you were in a scramble, but will make it hard not to 3 putt your own ball.
