Meh
Had 12:20 tee time. There was a decent amount of rain overnight but the morning tee times went off without delay. First issue - range was closed. Not sure how course can be playable but range is closed. So that started everything on wrong foot. Pro shop employees were less than helpful and could not have been more disinterested in something other than the music in their earbuds or talking w each other. Cart barn was chaos with all the afternoon groups w no where to go and morning wave coming in. They too were less than helpful. Course was playable but definitely coming out of winter. Greens were in so so shape. Tee boxes were ok as well. Fairways ok. Made turn in 2 hours and had to wait for 4(!) groups stacked up ahead of us on 10. Took too many reservations and crammed them all in. 3 hour 2nd 9 w a wait on every box. If customer service were a bit better to set expectations it would have been more tolerable. Missing rakes on a few bunkers is just poor. There are so many more courses that provide for a better experience overall. Won’t go there again w so many other choices.
cart path only
This is a hige three course complex, with a hige parking lot requiring three bag drop areas, with enpugh staff to unload bags. There is a nice practice area driving range to warm up before play. The weather caused a carr path only day, however the parkland was mot as budy as the others so good pace of play.
Unpleasant starting experience and silly greens
Beautiful, scenic layout but the greens were an unreasonable clown show. I agree with the many reviewers about the notably bad starting experience. Hitting a small bucket to warm up was a big hassle which is completely out of line. I think they take their golf training facility way too seriously.
Great golf course, worse starter system ever!
Love the golf course layout. Font 9 holes has lots of water and back 9 has very challenging green. Green is uneven but playable. However, they have the worse starter system ever. I usually get to the golf course an hour early so I can hit some ball and chipping and putting. When we got to the course this morning, starter will not load our club to the cart until 10 mins before our tee time. I don't even have a place to put down my coffee. There were a bunch of us just standing around the bag drop area. Nobody is going anywhere because the driving range is 500 yards away and the putting green is behind the club house that nobody can see. I hope the administration for this golf course see this and modify their system.
Tough greens and skinny fairways
Course was very challenging. Keep it in the fairways and the greens will still challenge you.
Cranky old men
I stopped playing here after witnessing Legends staff berate paying customers and make racist comments about a group of Asian players. I thought things had changed a year later but the same cranky old retirees still work here. The busy body range worker scolded my dad who’s 81 for sharing his range bucket with me. He claimed the new owners would suspend my dad’s range membership if they caught him doing that but added he “wouldn’t say anything.” This guy then offered unsolicited advice about my Stealth driver. I wasn’t aware a 15 handicap range goat was qualified to offer club advice to a scratch golfer. As for the course, they apply a $50 markup vs. the other two Legends courses, ostensibly because it’s a Tom Doak design. Ten years ago this course was $35 after 4 pm in the summer. Now it’s almost $100 in low season because Doak got famous. Hilarious! Go to Pinehurst, NC instead. Better courses, better value and superior service.
Very nice course
The course was in good condition, other than a soggy spot in a few fare ways I played as casual water. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
I recommend this course.
Very challenging
Fairways were forgiving greens were not greens undulating up & down hard to read really test your game had a lot of fun
Just alright
Mind you , it rained during the entire round which made it a bad day !
The pro shop was rude and not customer friendly at all ! Remember , you’re in the service industry!
Overplayed and abused.
Carts are in rough shape. Greens are even worse. Course gets too much play and not enough love.
Don’t miss this one!
Absolutely loved this course. Not an easy one but so worth it. Beautifully laid out and everyone was wonderful from the bag drop to the restaurant. Showed up early and they fit us in. Only complaint was the two groups of three in front of us so we didn’t get to play the last three holes which were totally open. Come on guys.
good challenging course
Course not in best condition, needs some upkeep attention
Well but 15 handicapper you say at the range has won more tournaments than you've played golf and he saw your swing and if you're a scratch golfer it must be scratching your head anytime anyplace for any amount of money you want to play for I'll back him
