About

Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

Nice course, nice people

Came out to play as a single, they accommodated me no problem on a Saturday morning. Got matched up with another single and we had a great time. Course was in fine condition, greens were fast and smooth. Shout out to the 2 ladies running the show, in the clubhouse and as the starter. They were so nice! Pace of play was good, the foursome in front of us let us play through immediately.

Nice staff!

This course gets better every time I play it! I was paired with an excellent young gentleman named Chase who worked at the course. Not only was he a great golfer, he was super friendly and knowledgeable about the course. Looking forward to my next visit to Ironclad!

Nice improving course

Good basic course that gets better each time I visit. Back side has a third par 3 that could (and should) easily be converted into a par 4 to make it a par 36 side. One of the other par 3’s on this side is still under reconstruction but seems to be close to completion
