About
Kyber Run Golf Course sprawls across a rolling terrain, incorporating a variety of elevation changes throughout the fairways and greens. The course is a traditional American layout that is dotted with trees. It offers a mix of challenges as well as several birdie opportunities. It is player-friendly enough for beginners but will still keep more advanced golfers interested. There are seven ponds throughout the course that come into play on several holes. A fair amount of bunkers are also strategically placed along the greensides. The toughest hole on the golf course is the fifth, a long par-3 that requires a tricky carry to a two-tiered green. Proper club selection is key on this hole. Located in Johnstown, Kyber Run offers a more affordable option than others in the area.

Hidden gem
The course is a great use of the natural landscape
as the undulation of the fairways does not always guarantee a flat lie. Unassuming until trouble comes into play, mostly on one side, but at times on both sides of the fairway. The par 3s are a challenge from any of the tee boxes as they all have forced carries.
They have redone ALL of the existing bunkers setting this course apart from most of the public courses in the Columbus area. Playing there often I've never seen it in poor condition, even on heavily trafficked days.
The staff is kind and friendly. Grabbing a bite and beverage before taking on one of the most challenging back 9 stretches is advisable. That's quoting a friend that's a member at private course in Westerville.
