Eagles Pride Golf Course - Green/Red
About
Eagles Pride Golf Course has long been known as one of the best military courses in the country and luckily for golfers, it's open to the public. Originally opened in 1940, the course started as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course. Another nine was added in 1979 but it wasn’t until the mid-1990s that it became Eagles Pride. The three nines are called the Green, Red, and Blue, and they are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Green/Red Course starts with the newest and most challenging of the three nines. The course will test you with plenty of trees, water hazards, undulating slopes, and even the occasional blind shot. There are some tough holes but players of all skill levels could enjoy any of the nines.
Previously known as Green/Red at Fort Lewis Golf Course.

Staff assistance
My tee time was 1103, there were several spots earlier. The pro shop allowed me to go out by myself at about 1055. No one in front of me for 5 holes. Made it a very fast round!! Always appreciated!!
Great course
Eagles Pride is a stunning yet challenging course. The staff is friendly and eager to help. The only downside is that there are no food trucks or a halfway house where you can grab a bite. So, come prepared!
Eagles Pride is a hidden gem
From the pro shop attendant to the lovely starter this was a great experience. Course was in great condition and didn't disappoint. Will definitely be back to a course that we see from the freeway all the time but have never played before.

Great course for a great price.
I love this place! Course is well maintained and it's fun to play. You can walk or drive and still play a good pace. The only bad part of our round was the little briwn things from the trees were all over most of the greens. They really affected the balls path, and there were too many to try and clean each path. But we aren't very good and for the $35 we spent to play a casual round, we weren't worried about it. It actually helped my wife make a outtthat was off line a bit. In all we had a great time and we'll be back more this summer.
The course needs better Marshals
The price for the value of the course is great and it was in good condition. The only problem was the Marshals. The pace of play was terrible and when they couldn’t convince the group to speed up, they recommended that we moved to the practice course. Then another group tried to jump in front of us on the back nine which glad to a confrontation, and the Marshall did nothing about it.
Excellent value
The pro shop staff was very friendly, and checking in was easy! Pace of play was good, didn't stand around waiting to hit and wasn't pushed.
The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful.
Course plays long
Course was in good condition. Greens have lots of undulations and roll true. Plenty of challenges for all level of golfers. Worth playing if your in the area.
Great course that will kick your butt
I love this course. Lots of terrain changes. Lots of sidehill lies, uphill lies, downhill lies. Rare to find a level second shot unless you play smart. Bunkers are hard in the mornings and loosen up when it dries out. Greens are in very good condition and pin placements are tough. There are a lot of contours on the greens making a lot of 1 putt birdies into 3 putt bogeys. After you get your butt kicked, the restaurant is an awesome place to wind down. Staff is super friendly and the rates are great.
Need more access to water while walking course
Add water dispenser every few holes or increase beverage cart frequency. Only saw cart once and all vending machines were out of water.
