Eagles Pride Golf Course - Red/Blue

About
Located just 20 minutes south of Tacoma, Eagles Pride Golf Course in Fort Lewis is one of the area's best golfing values. Originally opened as the 18-hole Fort Lewis Golf Course in 1940, it soon became known as one of the best military courses in the country but it's also open to the public. Another nine was added to the layout in 1979. The three nines, known as the Red, Blue, and Green, are played in different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course is the original layout. The classic design is player friendly but at the same time challenging with an abundance of trees lining the fairways and greens as well as tricky elevation changes that make it tough to find a flat lie. Each hole offers plenty of variety.

Good course, great condition
First time playing this course, read some review about how rude the customer experience can be, so not high hope when I arrived. To my surprise, it was not bad at all. Just your usual experience at any muni/public course. However, the gent behind the counter was not wearing a mask, so that’s an iffy for me.
The starter was accommodating when I asked if I can go first. I was there early for my round and when I saw no one ahead of me and no one lining up behind me, I asked if I can just go and not wait till my tee time (which will be about 20 mins later, with what I can see a weekend group of 3 foursomes going right after). He said no problem and I was on my way.
The course was in great condition for the amount of rain we had here the past few days. I played at Echo Falls earlier this week and it was HORRIBLEEEE. The fairway here was pretty decent with not a lot of wet or soggy spots, definitely walkable. The greens were very soft but still very playable. Just 2 holes that had deep water on the green.
Overall a good experience that’s only 30 mins from my house. Will definitely come back again.
Great course
This is definitely a hidden gem. Great fairways and nicely maintained greens. This was my first time playing this course and I will definitely be back.

Wonderful Golf Day
With many other courses in the area soggy from recent rains Eagle’s Pride was a great course to play.
