Lake Spanaway Golf Course

It's a muni course but very much a good challenge and scenic with the big trees lining the fairways. For the price it is an excellent course and is very hard to beat. They are busy and always being played so you'll most likely play with others if you do not have 4 players. It's absolutely worth the visit. Staff is always fantastic and the food and beverage service is excellent with good value as well.

The only thing that could use improvement at the course are the paths. If you take a power cart and it's dry out, a lot of dust kicks up from the gravel paths. If you're following another cart too closely you'll definitely be covered in dust. Keep a good distance and use the air hose to clean your bag post round.

The golf course is in great shape. Every hole is pretty much tree lined in there are sand traps protecting every single green. Yes that is correct. There is one or two sand traps in front of all 18 holes. You will have to hit a Quality shot onto the greens very long dog legs left and right that require you to hit a shot. Most holes on the golf course are over 375 yard power fours please do not be discouraged by these guys who come out here and play and they are non-golfers and they talk crap about the golf course. This course was designed by the same person that designed Broadmoor golf course on Madison Beach in Seattle again a very hard course to play sand traps. You have to hit a Quality shot onto the Green stop, complaining and post your scores

I grew up in Puyallup, and I always wondered what it'd be like to golf at Spanaway Lake G.C. Finally, I got there the other day. Considering the heat and air quality, it was a busy Thursday afternoon. Even so, we never waited too long for the group in front of us,.though the "Young Guns" behind us were a bit too impatient at times. Even hitting onto a green we were still putting on. The course is in great shape, especially the speedy greens. The bunkers were inconsistent with some rock hard and others beach worthy. The layout is fun and challenging. One drawback was there was no drink cart making the rounds even though it was such a hot day. The clubhouse staff could also be a lot friendlier, behind the counter and in the snack bar. All in all, though, we enjoyed ourselves and would return.

I always look to play this course when opening the Golf Now App. Great condition and well groomed. Highly recommended especially when getting the Hot Deals on the app.

We really enjoyed the course layout at Lake Spanaway... The greens on the course are well kept. We were paired with another couple that slowed our pace of play considerably and forced us to let multiple parties play through which became frustrating, but overall we had a great time.

Great early morning start. Enjoyed the course overall. Conditions were great.

Rating would have been higher if I hadn’t gotten stuck behind the Tuesday women’s group, who were playing slow. Back nine had waits on each hole.
